I've been waiting patiently for this controller for 2 years now. Why do you ask? Because being that this is a limited edition red x360 controller everywhere I looked this bad boy was extremely expensive. Finally after 2 years of waiting lol, Amazon pretty much is a have a 50% off the original price and I grabbed it. This is your standard x360 controller colored on red with a dock charger to connect to your xbox and it also supports batteries. I'm so happy with this deal

Durability issues?,

I purchased one of these and returned it a week later because it kept dropping the wireless connection to the Xbox. Even when the battery was fully charged I would get disconnected mid-game.
Now I am on my second one and have had it 6 months and the joystick is starting to wear out. It leans to the left slightly so that when the controller is just sitting there with nobody touching it my game characters will move left on their own. I have never had a joystick wear out on me before (I still have all my N64 controllers in working condition). I have a regular black wireless controller that works fine, so I am not sure if there are differences in manufacturing that make the red ones worse or if I just have bad luck.

This is the same controller with a nice new paint job just in time for Gears of War 2. It also comes with a play and charge kit which is why it is more expensive.

Overall I like the design of this controller. It is great for most modern games like RPGs and FPS. The reason I say modern is that with the increasing popularity of old school games on Xbox Live Arcade, this controller could use some improvements. The main problem is the D-pad. In most games I play, the D-pad is used sparingly, and usually only a single or couple of presses at a time. For that it is ok. But try playing Castlevania or Ninja Turtles and you'll quickly find it unsatisfactory. Now I know you can use the joystick but the problem with those is that sometimes the input is unclear. For example in castlevania you press Up + Attack to use your special weapon. However sometime pressing Forward + Attack will be register as Up + Attack. If you try to use the D-pad you encounter the same issue. It has this curvature that makes it feel like a bowl which takes away the feel and makes precise inputs hard. It would have been nice if they just had a simple D-pad with Up, Down, Left, and Right like on Nintendo controllers. But if you only play more modern games that are made for the 360 then I think this controller is excellent and you don't have to worry about my comments.

This controller is red with black outlining and it looks extremely nice. Also comes with a play and charge kit so that if you don't have any batteries you can use this as an option. Really love the controller.

The controller is pretty solid, but I've got some similar complaints to the others I've seen here. However, for starters, those of you who have charging issues or short battery life, you should start by charging the controller while it's turned off to a complete full charge, before ever using it. If you play and charge it the first time, you pretty much doomed your battery.
Anyway, about the analog... First controller I got, I sent back within 2 weeks because the left analog started to 'creep' to the left slowly (i.e. in first person shooters, the character would slowly walk to the left) even when the controller was untouched. Seems like the new manufacturers use a weaker thumbstick mechanism or something of the sort. Other than that, no other complaints. Still better than a lot of 3rd party, 'cheapie' controllers

I absolutely LOVE the red and black 360 controller. The 360 controller is one of the very best out there. While it doesn't have motion control like the Wiimote or the PS3 controller's sixaxxis, it's by far the most comfortable to hold/use, and the most intuitively laid out. The PS3 controller is the absolute worst in that regard. Horrible, and in great need of a re-design. The 360 controller is just perfectly designed, at least for my hands and playing styles/preferences.
For the controller itself, 5 rating. For the red and black one, 5 rating. Highly recommended!

Hey all this is Sam AKA Para in the gaming review community. This is one of many gaming reviews I will be starting for Amazon, so I hope you enjoy. Going to be talking about the Xbox 360 Limited Edition Red Wireless Controller and Play & Charge Kit which I have to say feels well. It is sort of light but durable. After playing for long hours I notice no pain in my hands, just the way the designed this controller it just fits right in your hands and is not stressing out you muscles or having you to curve your hands around it just to hold it. The vibration feedback is very well and is not super strong that it feels like a back massager or making your hands go numb, but it is not also so weak that you cannot even feel it. It gives just the right amount. The triggers are in just the right position and have the perfect lift to them for easy access. The joy sticks are perfectly assessable and once again do not strain your hands trying to use them. Battery life is not the best though, it could use a slight improvement but that is minor. Overall the controller is very nice and easy to use. Good work Microsoft for changing the hamburger shaped Xbox controller to this much easier to handle one. Hope this review helps and look forward for my other game reviews.

This controller looks great. Compared to the old white controller it looks more vibrant and the bumpers and triggers look great as well. I also find it to be a bit smaller and lighter than the regular white controller. However, the battery acts up sometimes. I will charge it for a long time and it will still have two bars, and I soon as I unplug the charger it will say 3 bars. This is a minor issue and I don't think it's too big of a deal. In my opinion this controller is definitely worth the purchase.
