This kit is good because it does its job. However, the cord is WAY too short. I was not able to go far with the cable plugged in from the xbox360 to my controller. Not only that, it doesn't include a charge pack so you are left buying one on your own. If either of the above doesn't matter to you, then this product is great. If it does, then go with the original Play & Charge kit that has a really long cord and with a charge pack.

Yeah right. Hardly charges my controller and it broke the third day I had it! I bought a new one because my old one got a short in the wire....then this one got a short in the wire. Very annoying, also the cord is shorter than the original play and charge cord. so its overall a waste of money.

Absolutely great to have to charge your controllers pack, only thing us I wish it was a tad bit longer, it doesn't reach my couch while its plugged in charging, other than that it was a great purchase

A great cable that works and is fairly durable.

The length of the cable is a little more than 5 1/2 feet including the ends that are inserted into your Xbox360 and Controller.

Like the previous reviews and the product information state, this cord does not come with a rechargeable battery. If you are without a rechargeable battery, there are plenty of 3rd party batteries that work as well as Microsoft brand batteries for a fraction of the cost (I prefer the black Nyko battery, which I have also reviewed).

However, it might be a better deal just to get the bundle pack from Microsoft (their Play and Charge kit comes with a battery AND a charge cable, and is usually around $15). You will usually save money on shipping that way and pay less overall if you need both the charging cable and the battery.

I don't know why this thing thinks this is a game but it's not. It charges my controller and it works.

So I ordered them because they are cheap and I only needed the cable. THE LENGTH IS ABOUT 5FT. I knew it was short, but no one up to now had said how long it was.
They worked okay. They kind of have to be wiggled into the right position. After a few days of using it, I started getting this weird buzzing sound when it was plugged in...dunno but it still works for the most part.
Overall, if you want something that will work 100% of the time, get the Microsoft branded stuff. If you are okay with something that will work most of the time, give this a try. Don't expect it to work 100% of the time though...

I bought this a few months ago thinking it would extend my ability to play without having to pay for a ton of new batteries for the controllers. At first it worked great but slowly it was becoming more and more difficult for it to charge my batteries.

Eventually the battery would only charge a few minutes of game play at a time and I figured this was the battery having been used too much so I bought a new one, but the new battery wouldn't charge at all. I ended up buying the quick charge kit and both batteries held a charge for a much longer time than I expected.

It turns out the play and charge kit stopped working all on its own even though my batteries were working perfectly fine. I would not recommend this at all.

Same exact cord I needed to replace at less than half the price. Cord has decent length and did its intended job.

It was exactly what was described to charge and play our xbox controllers!!! My family is very happy therefore I am happy so purchase this for your family and make them happy!!!! It came fast and for the price you can't beat it!

So when you're girlfriend urges you to get a cat and it chews up every wire in your whole apartment, this is a nice cheap solution to one of my many broken wires.
