I bought this charger around December and so far this is what I can tell you about it.

cons.
1. There's no way to tell how charged te batteries are using the xbox button in the middle of the xbox controller, when you do the bars for the battery life are always full so you wont know when the charge is going to run out.

2. The charging stand where you put the batteries on isn't designed very well for charging the batteries without them being attached to the controller, if you try and charge them without it connected to the controller you have to try and line it up just right with the little LED on the charging dock and the battery, if you don't the light showing you how charged the battery is will stay red (no/low battery power) and will never change to yellow or green (fully/high battery power), resulting in you over charging the battery. The easiest way to prevent that is to just have the battery connected to an xbox 360 controller when you charge it and it will slide right into place. (P.S. I myself might have accidentally over charged the batteries because the light indicator showing how charged the battery is will only go to yellow. I'm not sure if this was caused by me or if the batteries themselves were defective or something of that nature.)

3. The average time the batteries last after being charged is around 3 to 5 hours of use, which is abit shorter than other batteries but if you aren't using both of them and have a second xbox 360 controller (you can charge the batteries without them being attached to the controller, it's just harder to line them up with the charging bay!) you can pop the dead battery into there and put that on the charging bay and then rotate them when those batteries get dead.

I used to have a Nyko w/ rechargeable batteries before it got stolen. Those batteries would last 25-30 hours on one charge. These only seem to last 3-4 hours. The batteries feel lightweight, too. Kinda the way cheap batteries feel compared to real ones like Duracell. They DO work, just was expecting more.

2 months and its given me no problems at all, charges last about 5-6 hours for me and the LED lights look good in low light rooms. Glad I purchased this charger.

I am a BIG fan of the idea of induction charging - best idea EVER (if they can get it to work properly). Dreamgear doesn't seem to have it here. My experience with this product started off strong. Two controllers with the included batteries were working great after first charge. The second charge seemed to leave one of the controllers with almost no battery life - it would die in minutes. Then it wouldn't stay on at all. After third charge by other controller did the same thing. Nothing I do has worked to get these batteries to charge again. I'm really disappointed! I've also been unsuccessful in contacting the company. I give up on induction charging for the XBOX!

This product has pluses and minuses. Whether it's right for you depends on a number of things.

There are two big pros:
- You can charge the batteries outside of the controller.
- The batteries are light, making the controller lighter. Typical rechargeable battery packs are much heavier.

Cons:
- A full charge only lasts a few hours.
- You have to line up the batteries on the charger "just right". You can't just set them down effortlessly. This may seem like a nit, but it does require a little extra effort and time.

I find these useful combined with a more traditional battery pack that charges while plugged in to the Xbox. When they run out, I switch over to the long-life battery pack.

If you need to play a long-running game without interruption, such as Black Ops 2's zombie mode, having one of these die on you mid-game can be very frustrating. If battery packs dying mid game isn't a big concern, this charger is nice.

Pros: works great, cheap, easy
Cons: Ok - the batteries don't last as long on a single charge as other types and there's no way to know when the battery is low.

Final thoughts: Who cares about the cons? You sit your controller down on the thing when you're done using it and don't worry about the battery.

Don't be duped by the 5 star reviews of this product.

This is the most awful product I have likely ever purchased.

Pros:
It charges controller batteries
Cons:
It gives you no indication of battery level. Specifically, the Xbox Guide screen shows the battery as full right until the moment in which the battery dies (with no warning)
The batteries don't last very long (a couple hours)
You can't continue to play while charging (like you can with the Xbox-branded Charge and Play kit. Once the battery dies, you have to put it on the charger and game over, man.
You can't turn off the charger and leave your batteries on it, or else the charger will siphon the charge from the batteries, leaving them dead when you go to use them.
If you don't play daily (or weekly), it's very likely you will go to turn on your controller and it will be dead. Charge dissipates slowly but surely while the controller is at rest.

Don't buy this product. It's garbage.
