The system is a blast to play when it's working. Unfortunately there is a boatload of problems to be had from the 360 for some reason. I guess they should have not released it so early. It seems like I could hit my PS3 with a sledgehammer and it would still keep ticking. The first problem was the Red Ring of Death. But I was happy that Microsoft completely fixed that. When the system got shipped back though, the open and close tray messed up first thing out of the box after being refurbished. I dealt with that though up until the "no video but sound works fine" hiccup a lot of the system's are having. This is not covered under Xbox's 3-year warranty extension and costs money to fix. Hopefully it might be covered someday. It really should due to the number of cases reported. But I just decided to buy a new one with a much better warranty due to all of the problems my current 360 has had. No wonder Microsoft is reporting tons of sales. Most people are probably on their second or third Xbox. But after making Xbox Live such a gamer's commodity, I'm not surprised why people keep coming back despite the terrible fragility of Microsoft's product.

The first thing that was wrong was that they sent the wrong power brick with the system. I had already had an xbox 360 and this was one that was suppose to go off to college with my son. I used my other power brick to see if it worked and it worked for 5minutes and then got the red ring and stopped working. I emailed the sender and received an email back stating I had purchased the wrong power brick. Then I went back stating I had received the whole system and not just the power brick and that the system wasn't working. They apologized and stated that I had to send the system back to them. I had stated that I didn't want to have to pay for shipping and handling back and they stated that I would be reimbursed. I then sent back the system and 2weeks after that I emailed about my shipping and handling refund and I was told that they weren't going to do that until I showed an email that stated it would be refunded. All in all this was the worst experience I had ever had on amazon. The seller didn't seem to feel that they should go out of there way to make the buyer happy and with all the other people I have purchased from they seemed like they cared if I was happy or not but not this seller.

I recently purchased a refurbished xbox360. It was a great buy. Fast shipping too. I had some trouble with it shortly after I got it, but no worries, the seller offers a 90 day warrant. I emailed him and he responded right away to get it back to him. He fixed it and had it back to me within 3 days. Great service and a great buy. If you're looking to save some money, but got to have a 360 buy one refurbished. With a good warranty you can't go wrong.

I pulled the refurbished Xbox 360 Pro out of the box, set it up and .... worked for 1 minute before it failed! I would NOT recommend buying any electronic device refurbished. I learned my lesson the hard way. Amazon was GREAT about taking care of the return and refund. That was easy, which was the best part of the whole ordeal. I will never buy refurbished again.

I bought this Xbox, and the very next day I received it the red light appeared, already broken just the day after I received it, terrible, they simply ripped off my money, I do not recommend this seller and even less the product.

I bought the refurbished Xbox 360 from Amazon. It was shipped to me quickly. Set it up the next morning and my sons played it for a few hours til it got the 3RROD. Packed it back up and returned it for a refund. Ended up getting a new Xbox 360 Elite. The Elite is on a few hours every night after school with no problems. Do not recommend ever getting the refurbed one even if MS is the one that supposedly refurbed it.Xbox 360 Pro 20GB - Refurbished

Power cord problems,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Xbox 360 Pro 20GB - Refurbished (Video Game)
I ordered the refurbished Xbox 360 and it was delivered with the wrong power cord. The cord plugs into the wall outlet then the other end connects to a power brick that plugs into the console. The power cord had a 2 slot female end instead of the required 3 slots--- it was also the wrong shape. Amazon would not send me a replacement (even though they sell one on their site). They, instead, offered to ship out a whole other console to swap for the 1st one. I told them exactly what the problem was and they said that they would put a note on the order to make sure the cords were verified before shipping the unit. I got the replacement WITH EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM!!! I called them up to get this corrected but they would not send the cord and would not send a replacement console. They said I had to ship both units back. So the final solution was to buy an Xbox from Game Stop. One star for lousy service and utter incompetence.

Got Red Ring Of Death shortly after warranty expired. Bought off of another site, btw. I read reviews, looked into fixes, thought since it was refurb the old problems would have been fixed. Worst case I figured I'd be able to fix by following the many xbox-fix videos out there. Seemed easy enough, I'm alright with computers and all that good stuff. Gave it a shot, didn't work. Out of all the refurb items I've ever purchased this is the first to fail and by all indications it was due to the same problems they originally failed with, which leads me to being pretty disappointed with all things xbox. It's bad enough they had the problem in the first place, but they even release manufacturer refurbs that fail?

we had a refurbished unit like this for about one year. it got the red ring of death and would no longer work. i had a tv repair place try to fix it but the main circuit board was shot. everyone i talked to said that there are 3 diffrent cuircuit board manufactures. aparently i got a bad one. i have also been told that the elite does not have the red ring of death problem. if you buy a unit like this do not expect it to work forever. i would spend the few extra bucks and get the elite. but, if you are on a tight budget and are only looking for about a year of use then it is a fair deal.
