5.0 out of 5 stars A definite upgrade
I've owned all 3 versions of the RB guitar, first the wired, then the RB1 wireless, and now this one. I have to say that each one has been a significant upgrade.

I'll just briefly note the pluses from the RB2 wireless over the RB1 wireless in case you're on the fence about upgrading:

3.0 out of 5 stars guitar review
Does the job but its hard to use star power, the sensor seems to be less sensitive than it should be. Guitars looked slightly worn, but they were used and i was expecting as much. However, the package was received in record time.

1) Silent frets - No longer do I hear my fingers releasing off the frets over the music, like I frequently did in RB1. Sometimes the loud frets would throw me off my rhythm if I was concentrating on upcoming notes, but I don't have to worry about that anymore.

2) Sturdier strummer - The strum bar is the same style as the RB1 model, except I don't feel like I'm going to break the darn thing off every time I strum it. While I never broke the old model, it just felt flimsier. It's still infinitely better than the noisy clicker strum bar that every GH guitar has.

3) More responsive Overdrive - Sometimes it seemed like my RB1 wireless wouldn't immediately respond when I lifted the neck to go into overdrive, which in turn often distracted me from hitting my notes and caused me to slip up. Whenever I tilt the RB2 wireless, however, it immediately goes into overdrive and allows me to focus on the song with nary a distraction.

4) Non-screw battery compartment lid - Thankfully they re-designed the battery lid to where you remove it and replace it by just squeezing the plastic hinge and popping it out/in. My RB1 wireless had a little screw in there that I had to bust out the Phillips screwdriver for every time if I needed to change out the batteries. So basically they trimmed a 10-minute process down to 2 minutes, which is nice if you're eager to get back to rockin'.

5) Overall better look - From the wood grain design on the neck to the sunburst design on the face, it's just a cooler-looking fake guitar to play when you're jamming out.

To summarize, the casual player can stick with his/her RB1 wireless but if you're an avid player and you've got $70 burning a hole in your pocket, you'll find this new model to be a welcome relief to previous small annoyances.

The new wireless guitar for Rock Band 2 actually WORKS!! There were so many issues with the wireless they created for RB 1 I was sceptical to purchase this one but I did and it works great, no issues what so ever.

I like it. It looks great and pushing the buttons doesn't create has much noise. The strum bar is the weak point of the guitar but still not that bad. Wireless is a big plus.

I ordered a Rock Band guitar for Christmas. When tried to use it on Christmas morning, it wouldn't work at all! I wrote to Hitgaming and told them of the issue. They sent out a new replacement guitar right away which arrived about a week later. The new unit works perfectly. This company's customer service can't be beat!! I would definitely do business with them again.

The guitar is sturdy and more durable than the previous Rock Band 1 guitar. Since I got accustomed to only needing to hit the strum bar very lightly, some of my hits didn't register early on because I didn't strum it hard enough. It's a minor complaint because I know they made the strum bar more durable and sturdy for those who are used to guitar hero or used to strumming with more strength.
