Thumbstick pads fall off!,

This product is not designed to last. If you play a lot of FPS games like I do, there's a lot of joystick work to be done. The buttons work fine, trigger sensitivity is all good. The digital d-pad is a little finicky though. It takes a lot of practice to hit only ONE direction.
This controller has silicone pads on its joysticks that grip really well to your skin. However, they do NOT grip well to the plastic underneath that they are bonded to. After a while, the silicone pads start to tear open at the seam, eventually just falling off. What you get then is a rather unusable hard plastic core of the thumbstick. You're better off spending some money on a legit Microsoft 360 controller that's built with solid construction and will be guaranteed to last.

Great Alternative to 1st Party Controller,

I decided to go for three of these wired controllers because of the cheap price. They look, feel, and play great. They also work well with PC games.
I do, however, tend to have some technical problems that seem to be related to them. Occasionally I will get a dirty disc error (which can be caused by hardware malfunctions) when starting up Halo 2 on the Xbox 360. Also, the headset icon blinks a lot on Halo 2 (for when there is input), even though there are no headsets connected. I may have just received a bad controller, but I haven't narrowed it down to which controller causes the problem. Still, I would recommend these controllers for a much cheaper alternative to 1st party controllers

This is a nice wired controller.
It is lighter than the wireless controller, it looks better, it doesn't use any batteries, and because it's a USB controller, it can be used on PC even. So yeah, I totally recommend this controller to anybody who is looking for a second controller for his xbox 360

if your looking for a cheap controller you shouldn't have to look any further. i've played many games with these and so have friends, they can't tell the difference. it's a great controller that puts less of a dent in your wallet. Get it.

It works. It's a controller. What else is there? Just as good as Microsoft's. Period. Good buy. :)

Bad D-Pad,

On the whole this controller is ok, but the D-Pad is very unresponsive and can take multiple presses to work. I wouldn't recommend this controller because of this. That said, it's fine for most games I've played and the only occasion that it would really infuriate me would be playing something like Tetris. But for hardcore gamers, I could see it being a serious problem in an intense multiplayer game. Also the RB and LB buttons are clicky and loud. They work fine, but they don't feel or sound very good. The vibration is a bit more muted than on a Microsoft controller too.
Microsoft controllers can be had used/new for about the same money now and that's what I'd do if I were to do it over again.

When playing too much Geometry Wars, my thumbs used to loose grip a bit on the original XBox 360 Wireless Controller. I had to re-adjust them from time to time, risking life ;-)
I haven't noticed this problem with this alternative. Other than that, it is pretty much identical. And since it is USB, it works with my Windows XP SP2 PC (using either MS driver, or third party XBCD, though the latter with some hack - had to add the device ID to the configuration file). Great for playing emulated 8-bit Atari XE games. Oh, and I even mapped it to use as a mouse in Windows. Not very cenvenient, but hey, it was fun.

I bought this controller for my son for Christmas & he barely comes out of his room now. He bought into an online game subscription for the year & loves it. The controller seems to be working just fine for him... not sure how I feel about him staying in his room so much, but that's another issue.

Yea, I'm [...] and an absolute video game freak. Every Pelican product I have has been [...]. Wireless controllers made by them ave short battery life, slow button reaction, and (on other consoles) have buttons that don't even work. After I bought my first Pelican product (a cable I think) I went to by a controller. The people at the store said not to buy it, but I did anyways. WASTE OF MONEY $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Just stick with Mad Catz or Microsoft, they have the best Xbox stuff. |
