5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful for PC gaming or xbox parties June 21, 2011
By The_JoE
Color Name:Black| Edition:Wired|Amazon Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
PROS:
Wired xbox360 controllers work well with windows7 right away and the driver for XP isn't hard to find.
No need to worry about relinking your controller when you go from xbox to xbox; just plug it in and you are good to go!
No need to charge or replace your batteries before you can play.
Most PC shooters made after the 360 have plug and play support for the 360 controller (in my experience). I've used mine for L4D, L4D2, and portal2 recently and I only needed to plug in the controller before launching the game for it to work.

CONS:
Cords are so 90s.
Since the two triggers aren't actually buttons a lot of older games can't map them as 'fire' buttons. This means that if you do any emulation or DOS gaming you will want to do research before buying this controller for them since you may not be able to use it in the way you hope.

Please note that if you want to use a 360 controller for PC gaming you CAN'T just use a 360 wireless controller and plug in a charge kit USB to your computer. The charge cord only provides power across USB; it doesn't communicate with the computer that way. If you want to use a 360 controller with your PC you need to buy this OR a wireless one that specifically comes with a plug for the computer.
I hope this review is helpful for any potential buyers.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm wired October 7, 2010
Color Name:Black| Edition:Wired|Amazon Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
The Xbox 360 controller is one of the greatest controllers ever designed, at least in terms of comfort, aesthetic appeal, sturdiness and whatnot. The only flaw is that the wireless version takes two AA batteries and they only last a few hours. Being wireless is novel for a while, but eventually the constant replacement of dead batteries got on my nerves. I have a serious aversion to 3rd party peripherals and rechargeable batteries in general, so a rechargeable powerpack was not an option for me. I solved the issue by getting a wired controller. It's even more comfortable; it's lighter, and there's no battery pack in the way of my finger tips. I love it, I'll never go back to wireless.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best PC gamepad out there August 17, 2011
Color Name:Black| Edition:Wired|Amazon Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
The XBOX 360 wired controller is the best PC game controller out there. Many games available on the PC translate very well to a controller format since it's pretty common to see ports between the various platforms these days. It works just like it would on an XBOX and Windows 7 automatically recognizes and configures the controller for you. No complaints at all. I have two that I use frequently for gaming on the PC.

5.0 out of 5 stars WIRED IS BETTER THAN WIRELESS May 16, 2012
Color Name:Black| Edition:Wired|Amazon Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this controller for several reasons.
It is much lighter than a wireless controller.
It does not require frequent battery charging.
It is more comfortable without that big battery cover on the back.
It uses phillips screws so it is easy to disassemble.
It costs less than a wireless controller.
You can leave the vibration on at all times because it will not drain batteries.
And if youre wondering it is the latest type so it is also compatible with the wireless headset.
Highly recommended for Xbox gamers, happy shopping and get Grand Theft Auto V coming soon. Leave comments questions below.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sit Down and Play February 11, 2011
By J. Owen
Color Name:Black| Edition:Wired|Amazon Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
One of the most frustrating gaming experiences occurs when you are just about to score a sweet kill in Halo Reach or Black Ops and you get the controller disconnected message because you are out of battery power. An equally frustrating experience is feeling like you are tied 12" from your tv screen because your controller cord is too short. The new Xbox 360 black wired controller is the perfect antidote. It boasts a 9' cable allowing you to play comfortably from your couch or armchair, and you never need to get up again because of battery failure. Additionally the buttons are comfortably spaced and the action is smooth. What is not to like?

3.0 out of 5 stars good controller, but some technical issues January 8, 2011
By S. Zhu
Color Name:Black| Edition:Wired|Amazon Verified Purchase
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
I bought two of these for my last-generation 360 (the one before the new black one). When I plugged either one of the controllers in by itself, it worked fine. When I tried to use both of them at the same time, the console couldn't recognize them as different controllers and assigned both the same player number, and the console would only take input from one controller. I don't know if this is a problem with the black wired controllers in general, or if I just got a bad set. I found that some other people had the same issue with these controllers, but it might also be that the older consoles don't recognize these correctly. On a side note, I have had no problems using one of these wired controllers with 3 wireless controllers. I use the other one for my computer, and it works great.

Do Xbox controllers work with Xbox 360?
no, the old xbox controllers don't work with the 360, since the wired 360 controllers connect to a usb port of the console.

Connection to the computer
Yes, this is the same as the XBOX 360 Controller for Windows. It uses a USB interface.

How many wired controllers can you connect to an Xbox 360?
ACTUALLY, you can connect FOUR if you use a USB hub. Yes, the 360 allows the use of a USB hub. I use one to connect my Xbox Live Vision Camera, wired Rock Band drum set, microphone, and two guitars.
