The MC2 Racing Wheel by Mad Catz for the XBOX 360 does have pedals. I'm not sure what the previous reviewer was playing on. But, you'll see in the picture that there are pedals. The pedals are removable, so maybe his cousin didn't have them plugged in. For the price, this wheel is the best on the market. There are better wheels out there, if you're willing to shell out the cash. But for the price, this one can't be beat. You will be pleased with this wheel. PGR3 doesn't allow much customization for the MC2 wheel, such as dead zones and sensitivity. But that's more the fault of the game and not the wheel. I'm sure future driving/racing games will allow more customization for this wheel. The problem was PGR3 came out before this wheel was on the market. However, it still works well overall. It may take a little getting used to. The quality of the unit is great. It is comfortable with no-slip soft rubber on the wheel. My previous Mad Catz wheel for my 1st gen xbox still works great after years of use. I'm sure I'll get the same life from this new version. The wheel's resistance feels natural and the vibration feedback adds to the realism in games. The pedals and shifter work well too. I've seen the wheel as cheap as $59.99 in adds. It just can't be beat.

Wheel good, communicator connection bad,

I've had two of these wheels and both had the same problem -- the communicator connection was bad. In races on PGR3, I would get complaints about feedback and a bad connection all the time. So I stopped using the communicator when I raced, which hurt the fun of the game. The wheel itself is fine and I actually prefer it to the MS wheel, which was nearly 3 times as expensive. But the communicator problem is serious, and I've heard other owners of the Mad Catz wheel complain about the same problem. I haven't used this wheel in six months and I'm hoping Mad Catz got enough complaints that they finally did something to correct it. Too bad

I've got this wheel and the voice function does not work. Unfortunately Madcatz's response is "we know about it but because it's a problem with code and/or products provided to us by MS we can't fix it for you and by the way we will not refund your money". They did say that sometimes they get wheels from China that have been refurbished and the problem is corrected (which means they know how to fix it they just don't want to spend the money fixing all the bad wheels out there) so if you want to send your wheel in they will replace it with one of these wheels but they don't know how long it will take (they implied it would be months). I'm very unhappy with them and will never buy a Madcatz product again.

i will make this short. The wheel works with most of the games, but no project gotham racing. The speedometer is fake, but you have a functioning shifter, with pedals. the steering isnt as good as normal controller, but its worth the fun. it can cling to a table, or it has a leg holder so you can keep it on your lap.PARENTS, GREAT GIFT FOR YOUR KID!

Clunky but Acceptable,

I just got this wheel today from Best Buy. In fact, I had to drive an hour and 1/2 just to pick it up because we didn't have one where I live. Anyway, as everyone knows the Microsoft Wireless Wheel for the XBOX 360 is not made anymore so this is pretty much all there is for a 'reasonable' price. That being said, here are my observations. The wheel and base are quite large. I'm a small guy, 5'7 and the base rests heavily on my lap and is about 19" across. It's fairly solid and definitely not light weight. I find it bulky and uncomfortable. Not only that, but the wheel itself seems to tilt too far forward and down for my comfort but its acceptable. The Green A button and Red B buttons are on the LEFT as compared to the XBOX controller where the buttons are on the right so that took some getting use to. The foot pedals are fine but the pedals themselves are fairly hard to press down. Especially the brake pedal. I guess Madcatz was going for realism in that department. I have them on carpet so they don't slide. The pros: Works with every game I've tried, Burnout, Dirt, NFS Hot Pursuit/Shift, Grid, Forza and Test Drive Unlimited 2. However, on some games the hat switch in which you look at the car from a 360 perspective is disabled. It seems to work best with Need for Speed Shift/Hot pursuit and Grid. You have to over steer on Test Drive Unlimited but that might be fixed in the controller menu. There's also vibrational feedback which isn't too bad. Also XBOX immediately recognizes the wheel and no calibration was necessary. The Cons: Bulky and big. Not a 'nice looking' wheel. Looks kind of corny with the stickers glued on for the label and speedometer. Another HUGE con is after using the wheel for a while there was a horrible screeching sound coming from the metal shaft inside the wheel. It got so bad my cat came in to see what I was doing. I mean, it was REALLY grating like plastic on metal. I actually tried WD40 and then Vaseline. Yea, I know, but it worked. If you use headphones I guess that doesn't matter to begin with. The other cons are no forcefeedback and it's not wireless. It also doesn't work with the GTA IV series. All in all if you HAVE to have a wheel this one would do. It's DEFINATELY better than a controller or joystick. On the negative, this wheel should be priced around 45-50 dollars. For almost 100 bucks it should at least be wireless. I hope this review helps someone. :P

The wheel works great with PGR3, Forza2 and Dirt. It does take some getting used to. You really have to work the pedals to make the turns, but with a little practice ou will get it. I have always loved racing games, but never had a wheel. I got the MC wheel and knew there would be a learning curve. It took me a couple days to get the hang of it, but I am now better with the wheel than I ever was with a controller.

Honestly this is the only racing wheel ive ever had, but i can say without a shadow of a doubt, that it is a very solid and very capable piece of hardware.
The Wheel: The wheel is rubberized, so those with sweaty palms like me dont have to worry about the wheel slipping during a turn haha. The only really bad thing about the wheel is that its a little too small, but the paddle shifters definitely override that small fault with the product. Also, the Stick shift is a very nice addition that i dont see with too many wheels on here, but it sadly only works with sequential shifting, but i dont think they're are any console games that support any other kind. Also, it says it has force feed back, but even turned up all the way in Forza 3 and Test Drive Unlimited 2, you only feel a slight vibrations coming from the middle of the unit. The paddle shifters work A and X when hit in reverse, and A B X Y Select and start are all on the inside of the wheel, and the d pad is located where the horn would normally be. The Body:It had a nice solid heft to it, but is sadly too plastic to not use the next nice feature: The pull down rubberized leg holders. You set the wheel on your lap in the grooves, pull the pieces from the interior onto the outside of your legs, and you are set to be as rough and as comfortable as you want sitting in any kind of chair, but if you have a table set-up there are 3 suction cups in a triangle formation on the base The pedals: They have a very nice pressure resistance that isnt too resistant, but doesnt take too much to press down, but there is no throttle. Also, unless you are on tile, the rubber stopper feet make this slide around on carpet, so youre doing to need something to push the pedals up against. Also, they are wired with the type of computer cord that screws in, so you have no need to worry of accidently unplugging the pedals while racing. Overall: Unless you truly fidget with the settings to get them to your liking, ive only seen exceptional performance with this wheel when it came to Test Drive Unlimited 2, and i see this as mainly being an Arcade wheel, more than a sim wheel because of slightly lesser sensitivity and bad force feedback. Although for the price, i would highly recommend this for immersion and overall fun.

Good feeling wheel, but 4-way hub controller flaky with Forza 3,

I use this with Forza 3, I have not yet tried it with Dirt2. I have used it for about 25 hours of play.Good : The feel of the wheel and pedals are very good. I would like a stronger spring return to center, but I'm just being picky. The wheel does not jitter in game play, and I'm very pleased with the feel of the force feedback, even though it's pretty tame. You can feel the simulated tire chatter in a corner, or the Stability/Traction systems making adjustments in hard driving, and that's really all I wanted. The feel of the accelerator is great, the brake pedal is a little sensitive, but I can live with it. The pedal board REALLY needs some grippy Velcro or Sup-R-Lock strips to grab carpet or it will slide around. An easy fix. The paddle shifters are great, I don't use the shifter stick much. The paddle shifters will not stand any major abuse, but are sensitive and smooth. Bad: The center hub of the wheel is the 4-way controller pad located for your left thumb on the normal XBox controller. Mine is extremely crappy, and often misses a press or reads a double or triple press. I may eventually have to return it for warranty, I'm still figuring the problem out - but the hub is sloppy enough it's never going to be a good 4-way button. Navigating is a major problem because of this fault. Overall: Happy with the general feel of the wheel, like the pedals, fair price. The wheel and pedals feel very solid. I'm driving far better now. That 4-way controller in the hub **stinks** though; it's light, weak, sloppy and unreliable and I'm not a bit happy about that bit.
