Xbox 360 Wireless Halo 3 Spartan Controller

This device works the same as all previous Xbox 360 controllers only with more attractive graphics on the front. Only die hard Halo fans need apply. What do you get for an extra $10? just the pretty looks and a little plastic army man (Okay, it is Spartan 117). I was disappointed that it did not come with the rechargeable battery for the extra money which is the reason for the lower review however, it is still a rock solid product and is recommended for the fanboy in us all.

Well, seeing as though I'm a Halo fan, and was pretty disappointed in the Halo 3 Edition 360, because of it looking pretty plain, I decided to get this instead, really I think it was worth it if you're a Halo fan, the design I think is great, and the figurine, small, but very detailed. Now just like other people the only BIG problem I see is with the battery, it would have been nice to get a recharge pack or something, but all in all it's worth buying for the Halo fans.

This controller is a nice addition to any halo fans collection, but unless you really want the figure there is a rush to get one. Aside from aesthetic changes its identical to the regular controllers. The image resists scratching reasonably well. Also, the black battery pack matches this controller but unfortunately isnt included.

The Halo 3 Spartan Controller is definitely a good buy. If I was given another chance to buy one, I'd buy one. The controller itself is no different from a normal Xbox 360 controller, with the slight exception that the top surface is smooth with a beautiful decal on it. The controller feels better than the other 360 controllers (I own 2 wired, 1 wireless white, 1 wireless green, and both the Halo 3 limited edition controllers). Because of the smooth surface, you have extra grip when playing your 360 and the decals will make any of your friends look at it. The last plus thing with this controller is you get a nice nifty little Spartan figurine of Master Chief. The doll itself is rather solid, not exactly the cheap inexpensive hard weak plastic. So whether you're buying it for collector memorabilia or because you think it looks cool, it's worth the extra 10 bucks.

I didn't need another controller, but I bought this one anyways. It came with a figureine and it is a piece of artwork in itself. I play with it, but after I get my gamestop exclusive missle case in the mail, I might just leave it in there permanantly on display. I might also buy the other one too just so I can have both versions and both versions of the figurine. I wish the second figurine was a brute or the arbiter or something... but oh well. This controller is truly a work of art as most things Halo are. And the figurine gives us a sample of whats to come in January from McFarlane toys! I can't wait! Keep on bringing the Halo merchandise cause baby I am buyin!

Ok. Its a Microsoft controller. Same as the original, just a different design. However, the left edge of mine is not exactly flush, which creates a rough edge. Not a big deal. No brainer here.

I now have 2 of these. I first paid $45 from TRU. The right bumper played like it was already worn out. I got my second one from Amazon for $35. I have not opened it yet but I hope it's in perfect condition. I like the grafix. Buy black rechargables to match battery pack for this control.

I gave this to my brother for his birthday and he loved it. If you are a major Halo fan than it is a must have

I have the halo 3 edition of the xbox 360, and this is the best pair to get wit the system....i used this controller as my main one...the picture and finish(glossy) is just this shizna :p

This will be a very truncated review as this controller is identical in most regards to the standard xbox 360 controller. Look for reviews of that product if you need to know basic information about the controller.

It is a comfortable controller to hold, feeling slightly lighter than the standard controller, though this might just be psychological. It's a good deal pricier than the standard controller, but when i got this and the matching covenant controller out of the packaging and looked at them... wow. the gloss, the detail, and the style are remarkable, and the quality makes me unafraid of ruining the finish by using them. that said one of the only weaknesses of this controller is that it looks so good i don't use it unless i have more than two people playing (since i only have two regular controllers).

Additionally, the black finish on the bottom of the controller prevents me from using the nicad batteries i bought for the regular controllers i have, another barrier to me using this or the covenant version as my standard controller.

Of course neither of these are real weaknesses and arise purely as a result of aesthetics. any halo fan will go crazy for these beauties. For me buying the special edition console was not an option, but these suckers are plenty to make me feel secure in my halo fandom.
