Great xBox DVD Remote. Has most functions of a normal DVD Player. It does feel a little uncomfortable, hard to explain how. But it's an xBox, so don't expect a perfect DVD Player from it.

Glad I bought 2 of them, one for myself and one as a present.
Just plug it in and it is ready to go

Recently purchased the first xbox was surprised to learn that u needed a remote for the movies. Well amazon certainly had what I was looking for and at an outstanding price. Thanks Amazon for making movies right at my finger tips

It does what it says it does: plays DVDs on your xbox. No progressive scan, which the xbox should be able to do, so disappointed in that. But when our dvd player crapped out, this thing made our old xbox into a DVD player for $6.50

this is one of the best items I ever brought from amazon. It arrived in good time and the product was bandnew. I recomend this product to all xbox game system owners.

Although you cannot turn the xbox off, which is the only con, it is otherwise very useful and just amazing. A MUST BUY!

Product is very easy to use, just plug the reciever into the machine instead of a game controller and the remote operates the machine as any other dvd player would. I recommend plugging the reciever into one you don't normally use, that way you wont take it out regularly and get it lost.

This only works with the original Xbox (we believe). We bought this to work with our Xbox 360 and can't seem to figure out where you plug it in to the console. Returning it.

PROS

- works fine. No IR connection problems.

- great for people that don't already have a DVD player.

CONS

- doesn't play DVDs in progressive scan. Why not? They can make games in 480p (old HD) for the xbox.

- takes up a controller port slot. Not a big deal, but if you often have 4 friends playing, you won't be able to leave it in all the time.

- no backlit or glow

- no eject button

- no power button. What? Never seen a remote without a power button. Thus you CANNOT turn your xbox on/off with this remote.

- cannot learn

- not universal. If you have lots of remotes, you're better off learning this one into a universal remote.

- many people already own a DVD player, many with progressive scan.
