This HD AV pack for the xBox is NOT the Microsoft version. I bought this pack and can not get my HD TV to properly display any game... my TV is fully capable of all resolutions up to 1080i. I have spent many hours setting up and verifying that my xbox and my TV are connected right. I posted on the xbox forums and everyone there told me to return this product and buy the MS created HD AV pack...

This product totally doesn't work. I can't get my TV into HD at all no matter what the configuration in the XBox settings. I thought this was the Microsoft version but it's just a piece of crap from Intec.

This unit is worthless!I connected everything according to the instructions and the XBox will not display properly on my lcd tv. No matter what settings that I use it will not work. My problem is that I have widescreen enabled and it shows up on the tv as a 4:3 image, and it looks horrible. Yes, I did read and follow the instructions... buy the Microsoft version if you need one of these. I found them in CompUSA and Best Buy at a very reasonable price.

This product is totally unacceptable. Reading the other reviews, and my own experience leads me to conclude that this product is poorly designed. Most likely, the cabling and switchbox are not suitable for the radio-frequency signals present on the component interface. It is obvious that the channels are interfering with each other. It does enable HD for the XBOX, but the picture is worse than SD due to ghosting/noise.If you want HD on your classic XBOX, I recommend you buy a Psyclone component cable. It is only a few dollars more and (unlike the Intec cable) works well.

I just got a new 50" Samsung DLP HDTV and have been upgrading everything to component video. First up was the XBox. I got some cables at Best Buy and plugged them in. After a minute or so in the XBox dashboard I had my XBox configured to 720p default resolution (I even had it at 1080i to test out Dragons Lair, looked awesome). The only problem with the cables I bought was that it only had stereo outputs. No problem I thought, I'll pop out to Amazon and pick this little guy up.I don't think this thing is capable of progressive scan. at 480p and 720p it creates a ghosting affect where text and graphics are smeared to the right. After fiddling with it for awhile i assumed it was defective and ordered an exchange. I plugged the new Xbox High Definition AV Pak into my system and it produced the same output. Perhaps this thing only does interlaced? I'm not sure. At any rate, I'm returning the second set and going back to my Component/stereo cables that worked from the get-go. On the plus side it came with all the cables you could need excluding an optical cable.

Although the Digtal Audio out worked fine, this adapter does not output in HD. I replaced this unit with the official Microsoft version which works fine with the same settings on the TV and XBox. I'm sure the s-video works fine, but if you are looking for 480p, 720p, or 1080i look elsewhere.

This one works fine, I mainly bought it for the digital audio output and actually get TRUE Dolby digital surround sound. People never knew that, you paid for a game that you were able to get through the original Xbox with 480i video and digital audio, but never got. I had replaced a SD one with this HD version. Using s-video was great, until I started using the component. Digital sound is completely different than analog.

I bought one of these to try, The other reviews do not do this product justice. Once installed, all you have to do is go into your video settings and put a check mark in 480, 720, and 1080. A lot of the newer games support 480, There is a vast difference in High Def 480 and a regular game. I recommend this product, It actually works.

The component output on this DOES NOT work correctly. It displays ghosting on all HD resolutions. I am 100% sure I am hooking it up correctly. The S-Video, Composite, and Optical connections all work fine. So if you do not need the component connections, this adapter is much cheaper than the Microsoft Advanced AV pack. |
