5.0 out of 5 stars Near perfect design! Does the job very well!
I have spent a ton of time researching ideas for keeping my laptop cool. I looked at the ones that blow air (and likely dust!) into the bottom of the laptop and that just seemed like a bad idea. Plus, many of them use the computer for power so you are further heating it up to use the cooling pads (?)...I decided there had to be a better way.

3.0 out of 5 stars Its ok, but could be better
The powered usb hub is a big help. It allows me to just have one usb cable to plug into my laptop when I put it on the stand to connect the mouse, the keyboard, the usb headset and the external storage etc.

Problem is, as with all laptop stand, it puts the lcd screen too far back when u include a keyboard infront of the stand on a desk. It would be ok if its...

I purchased the Lapinator Plus and, unfortunately, it doesn't really help unless I put strips of Cryopak beneath the pad (there is a tunnel that runs across into which a single strip of Cryopak fits pretty well). That means I must have a piece of cardboard or something underneath the Lapinator. Bit of a PITA for the result and having to change out the Cryopaks frequently to keep them very cold. It has little bumps that you can place wherever you want on the pad but, IMO, they are not high enough to have the impact necessary to allow air flow.

When I found the Xbrand Laptop Stand I checked many reviews and looked at it very closely. I decided to purchase it and am very pleased.

I have deduced that the best way to keep a laptop cool is to have air space between the laptop and what it sits upon. The Xbrand stand does this very well. The dimensions of it allow a portion of my 15.4" widescreen laptop to extend out allowing plenty of air space and the well in the middle of the Xbrand further gives it air. The grips on both the front and back hold it into place super well, no matter what position you choose. (For anybody who has a drive on the front of their laptop, there is a button that clicks that front hold down to access your drive and your computer will still not slip.)

I have tested it out and the difference in the feel of the bottom of the laptop (heat-wise), from before when it was just sitting on little bumps or just on its feet, is remarkable.

It sits on little rollers, hence the 360 degree statement, so that you can roll it around on a hard surface if you are sharing the screen with someone else. There are four pre-programmed positions in terms of angle to which your laptop will sit. Probably the ONLY thing I would change would be a couple more positions and, perhaps a height adjustment. But, even with that said, I still think this is a wonderful solution and it does what it says it does. Thank You, Xbrand!

4.0 out of 5 stars Does exactly what it promises, September 25, 2007

This is a fine product. I use it with a 17" MacBook pro, and it holds the computer securely while allowing quick and easy height adjustment. As others have noted, the lip in front can interfere with the DVD slot and/or the IR port, but positioning the computer carefully (offset about two inches) on the stand alleviates both of these problems.

One word of warning for Mac owners: though this stand offers four positions (taking the base of the laptop through horizontal, 30 degrees, 45 degrees, and 60 degrees), only the first two positions are usable for a recent model Mac. For whatever reason the screen on my Mac cannot be opened more than about 60 degrees so the steeper angles for the stand make the screen hard to see (at 45 degrees) or fall closed (at 60 degrees). This takes about 2" off the maximum height of the screen. Still, it's fine for what I need.

5.0 out of 5 stars the most useful laptop accessory ever!, June 27, 2008
This review is from: Xbrand XB-1001 360 Height Adjustable Laptop Stand (Personal Computers)
It really gives the flexibility to work long hours without hurting your neck or eyes. Even typing while the laptop sits on it is not a problem. The base wheels might have some gentle squeaky noise but leave no scratches. And, solid design that enhances the look of your computer at the same time.
I got mine at one third of the listed price in an auction site. Well, in fact I got 6 so far to give away some to close friends, too.

We had looked at many, many stands and reviews at many sites before ordering this. The positive reviews other people previously wrote on this site already do a great job describing this product. (Thanks)

Now, after almost 2 months of using this stand, including removing the laptop daily, we would also highly recommend it. Just like Xbrand promised, it is a very sturdy, cleaned-lined, adjustable stand that easily holds our 17" Inspiron. As others have written, it would be nice if it had more stops than the 4 positions but never the less we still found a stop that works well.

If we needed another stand, we would buy this one again (XB-1001)-- or it continues to be out of stock, then we'd pay the extra $ for the one with the hub rather or not we needed a hub:Xbrand XB-1002 360 Height Adjustable Laptop Stand with USB 2.0 Hub just to get the same design.

Highly recommend it for anyone with a 15 or 17" laptop...(have no experience using it with smaller laptops, so can't say) Thanks Xbrand!

If you've purchased a separate keyboard for your laptop and need a stand to bring the laptop to eye level, this is the ticket. It holds the laptop steady even on the occasion when I've accidentally knocked it. It actually takes up less depth space on my desk than if the laptop lay flat. It has a swivel so I can turn my computer side to side. I highly recommend this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the Product, August 3, 2007
This review is from: Xbrand XB-1001 360 Height Adjustable Laptop Stand (Personal Computers)
I was so disappointed recently when my husband accidently broke my Xbrand. I was elated to find it here so I could immediately replace it. I use the product regardless if I am sitting at my desk or in my recliner on WiFi. I love the adjustablity of the unit. The product is very durable. Great product, keep it up Xbrand.

This review is from: Xbrand XB-1001 360 Height Adjustable Laptop Stand (Personal Computers)
I am so happy I got this for a gift. It is perfect for me. My laptop is now at a perfect height and I don't have to rest it on my knees or on any other surface. I also like not having the hot laptop on my lap.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just what I wanted, July 8, 2007
This review is from: Xbrand XB-1001 360 Height Adjustable Laptop Stand (Personal Computers)
I was working in an area that was pretty cramped. This stand worked great for it. One thing if you laptop has anything on the front such as an dvd drive then it will be a pain to get to.
