Drawbacks? The black handle may become force-fitted to whatever driver one is using, but reversing the action with another nut or bolt generally clears that issue. My main peeve with this set is that, over the years, the clips in the plastic case which hold the individual nut drivers in place become too flexible and don't retain the drivers when closing the case. This took about ten or fifteen years of wear in my case, your mileage may vary. And it's easy to forget an individual driver sometimes, so remember to collect all the tools when a project is complete.
As with all useful tools, I have a tendency to use these for jobs that probably should use a heavier tool. Not a problem most of the time.
I would not recommend these for automotive use - a good socket set is probably better for that purpose - but for general household use these are hard to beat. Recommended.
The set I just received only had the normal Xcelite plastic smell, which is a wonderful memory for me.
However I have noticed on new set I just received, the yellow handled 5/32 (P5) is extremely rusted around the end. Looks like the "chrome" is not on it. While I am not quite happy about that, I am going to see if I can clean that up without sending them back. Saw another set recently that was exactly the same... same 5/32 (P5) nut driver...
Maybe the should start to put desiccant in the plastic case to prevent moisture or maybe it's a manufacturing issue of that specific P5.
That is the only reason I did not give the set 5 stars.
This is an excellent homeowner set for light residential use.
Features include a compact size that fits in a toolbox, colored handles that aid in selecting the proper size, and a large handle that fits over the nut-drivers to increase torque.
The clear storage box aids in identifying and organizing the nut-drivers, a handy feature as nut-drivers often get mixed up or lost in storage.
This is not a set for heavy duty use, but it is appropriate for typical homeowner tasks. This is a short set, so it is not appropriate for some deeply recessed fasteners.
For a heavier duty set, I'd choose something else such as one of the Klein tools sets:
Klein 631 7-Piece Cushion-Grip Nut-Driver Set 3-Inch Shanks:
The Xcelite compact set is very functional and handy for light duty use.
The set contains a wide range of driver sizes housed in a compact plastic case. I cannot comment on the quality of the case itself since mine is different, but the nutdrivers appear to be the same and the part number has not changed.
The hollow shafts of the drivers extend for one inch, easily accommodating most situations. I most often use the individual tools by themselves. The provided "Torque Amplifier" handle works beautifully on those occasions when a little more grip is needed.
I have abused these fine tools more than once by using pliers or vise-grips on their handles. Even so, they have never failed me.
I highly recommend the PS120 as a valuable addition to your basic set of tools.
As and aside, I have owned the similar PS88 screwdriver set for over 50 years as well. It is of similar quality.

Clunky and imprecise, not as nice as my old version of these sockets. Don't seem to fit nuts and bolts as well. Handles have sharp edges. Read morePublished 18 months ago by Jim Moomaw

Great tools! I've had these for 6 years and they always come in handy. Especially when working with little bitty nuts on little bitty terminal posts. Read morePublished on December 3, 2013 by Jason R Force
