5.0 out of 5 stars Stealth = Stealth
After making good Experience with Xelerate's PowerPDF I also bought spyPC to monitor my Children's Internet Use.
spyPC is able to log Chat Conversations, visited Websites, eMails and so on.
It's working invisible and proper for over 3 Months now.
I really enjoy using this Software.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Do It!
One thing that is not very clear with this software: In Windows XP, you have to have every account be an administrator account, which adds other dangers.

It seriously slowed down my computer, a Pentium 2 400MHZ with 384mb of RAM. Sometimes it is now unusable, it's so slow. It doesn't always email a log and it doesn't capture every keystroke, as claimed.

I dropped 39$ on this and after about 2 weeks, I'm giving up and looking for something else.

1.0 out of 5 stars Does what it is supposed to but slows your computer down., June 5, 2003
By A Customer

Let me first say that this product does everyting it says it does. The down side is that you can expect your computer to freeze up from time to time while the software is activated. The packaging says you need a processor of at least 166Mhz. I have a Pentium 4, and it is oten using 100% of its capacity when the Spy PC software is running. There may be someway to adjust the settings to fix this problem, but if there is, it is not very clear how to do this.

Keep looking!

3.0 out of 5 stars Fell short on support, April 14, 2003

I would have given them a 4, but when I emailed them about a
feature (would it email to me the 30 seconds of screenshots),
they did not get back to me.

It's a pretty good tool...gets most everything. The major
weakness is that you have to receive surveillance dumps to
an ISP, not yahoo or hotmail, and that it does not email
the screenshots, only typing, and it won't print from one of
the full view menus...you have to cut and paste to notepad.

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of Cra* software. Reveled itself all of the time., September 2, 2003
By A Customer

I installed this on two PCs on a network. One 2000 and one XP. MS messenger would bring up the panel. This was installed in stealth mode. The XP machine also revealed itself. I came home from an errand and my girlfriend asked " what in the he** do you think you are doing monitoring my stuff, trying to get my passwords?" Well it did not even log those and the logs are real hard to read. Uninstalled after one day. Also got me in real hot water. Guess it was my own fault for lack of trust.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Satisfied Customer, June 11, 2003

This review is from: SpyPC 7.0 (CD-ROM)
I have to say this is an excellent surviellence software and is very useful. It does an excellent job of tracking all activities on my computer and it gives a fairly detailed report of all websites and chat rooms visited. It definately logs everything. Very good product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice and easy to control a Windows PC, July 21, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: SpyPC 7.0 (CD-ROM)
The software works excellent on my daughters PC, it creates logs and allows me to lock away certain Windows features. I tested it in stealth mode, and it does what it says. It definetly does not slow your computer, unless you tell it to make screenshots every 10 seconds or so (dough!). You can not even tell that it sends email logs out.
I decided to let it run without the stealth option and told my daughter that the little icon in the systemtray next to the clock watches what she types and prevents access to nasty websites. She was not too thrilled, but the logs show that she respects it.

1.0 out of 5 stars No customer support, unreliable., July 17, 2003

I tried a demo version of this software, hoping to buy it from Amazon after evaluating it. One of the features in it is to be able to hide folders/drives on your pc. I tried it and it deleted permanently the entire folder and I lost my data. Their customer service has not been answering my requests regarding this matter. I am now looking for a reliable data recovery software, but it has cost me a lot of time, energy as well as given a lot of frustration. I hope Amazon notes this and cautions its customers before purchase, otherwise the so-loyal Amazon customers will feel cheated.
