Xena cd volume 4,
By Jack the Stripper (Here) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Xena: Warrior Princess, Volume Four - Original Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I'm a huge fan of this show. I have all 3 prior cd's. I enjoyed this cd more than the 1st because it doesn't have all the funeral durges of volume one. I like the Indian music. Definitely a cd of last season's (music) trip through India. If you're into it I suggest buying it here. I wish I did because I payed way too much elsewhere. It would've been even better if they would've added the theme song to this volume for the heck of it. In my opinion at Amazon's price it's a good buy.

The best xena soundtrack yet,
By A Customer
This review is from: Xena: Warrior Princess, Volume Four - Original Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This is by far the best Xena soundtrack yet. It contains music ranging from the two-part story of "The Debt", then "Family Affair" with very haunting melodies (plus, what I think is a cue from "A good day"), after that you will be transported to exotic India and last but definetly not least, some of the music of the two-part season opener "Adventures in the Sin Trade". Unfortunatly, the cd lacked some cues that I was hoping beyond hope that it would have: The Dance of the Spirits (not to be mistaken with "Released/Spirit Dance") and the "Xena attacks Cyane in the sweat lodge" cue. I suppose that the reason for this is that a cd can only contain up to 74 minutes of music and this one is already packed with 71 and a half minutes of soul gripping music. I just hope that the next one will have them.

Excellent Music on this Soundtrack,

This CD has a number of tracks with Asian and Indian influence. It's a really great mix of tracks for those of you who know and love Xena, and for those non-Xena people who enjoy "World Music" sounds. This is the first Xena soundtrack I've bought, and because of it's beautiful music, it won't be the last!

The Best of Season 4,
By
This review is from: Xena: Warrior Princess, Volume Four - Original Soundtrack (Audio CD)
That's just what this CD is all about - the best music you could have from the 4th season. If you haven't wantch the episodes, and you listen to the music, the story is there, in the notes, in the segmants, in the different India, Chin, Turangi places, and then some. The one track that really got me, just like in the episode of Adventures In The Sin Trade, Part 2, was the Xena vs. Alti, when in the end you hear the music of Xena's look into her future (in Ideas of March). You have to cry when you recall that. But let's not forget the fun parts - the last two tracks: Everybody Dance Now from Tale of Two Muses. Great to listen to, easy and fun, and our funny song in the end, with Ted Raimi there in I'm in Heaven... Just brings a smile to my face everytime I listen to this. This is the BEST of Season 4!

Joe LoDuca does it again!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Xena: Warrior Princess, Volume Four - Original Soundtrack (Audio CD)
The music contained in this CD is not only mezmorizing, but also brilliant in part of Joseph LoDuca and all the talent used on this album. The melodic Chinese sounds of the first selections (from The Debt) bring you through the emotions of Xena: Warrior princess as she recalls her adventures in the kingdom of Chin and contemplates, fails, and finally commits the assassanation of Ming Tien. The next selections (from Family Affair) take you to the reuniting of Xena with her sidekick Gabrielle through the death of the Destroyer and it's mother (Gabrielles daughter) Hope. Next, we are taken to India with the melodic sounds from Devi, Between The Lines, and The Way. The recaps the duos travels through India, and the discoveries they made about themselves. Then, the tunes of blood drinking, ancient amazons, and Xena's confrontation with the evil shamaness Alte come with the sounds from Adventures in the Sin Trade. Then two musical numbers from A Tale of Two Muses and If the Shoe Fits round out this amazing CD! I have been inspired by the works of Joe LoDuca in the past, and I still continue to be so. I hope you are too when you listen to this CD.

By now there are four volymes of soundtrack music to the series Xena. This cd is maybe not the best to represent it BUT it do have a quality different from the e.g the first one: It is not directly Xena specific. In fact it kind of reminds me of 'Dead can dance' now and again. Good background music if you're reading. If you want soundtrack - buy the first cd! If you are a Xenite...then wait no longer - buy it too..along with everything else connected to the brand 'Xena'. :)

absolutely spectacular,

In the fourth installment of the XWP soundtrack, Joe LoDoca has really done it. Having a taste for world music, he has taken it here to the max. We get to travel from Chin, to Sibiria to India, all in one hour. This CD covers XWP's season four and a small portion of season three. The music which represents the setting for the episodes is influenced by various traditions, from east Asia to what I believe native American culture (in the northern Amazons' tracks). All arranged under the brriliance of this composer. When I first heard this CD, I was speechless, it just sounded perfect to me. This CD is recomended to anyone who is spiritualy oriented. Well done, Mr LoDuca!

If you bought the first and second soundtracks, you might as well buy this one too. Joe Lo Duca's composing just gets better and better. It's hard to imagine that this soundtrack is for a television show. Much of the success of Xena can be attributed to him...and the coolness that is Joxer.

I just got this soundtrack today!! As soon as I put it in, I was so happy!! This is the soundtrack that Ive been wanting forever but havent gotten around to buying!! The first song that I listened to was Everybody Dance now! It sent shivers up my spin and I was dancing all around my house!! This is the song that they play in A tale of Two Muses at the end when they all do that big number!! Its Awesome!! And at the end of the song Xena vs. Alti, it has the music that they play during Xena and Gabs crucification! This is truly one of the best Xena soundtracks I've ever heard!! Definatley worth it!

Best Xena Soundtrack Yet,

If you're going to buy any xena soundtrack make sure it is volume four. So far it is the only xena soundtrack that has not disappointed me. The first two volumes are okay, the third was very disappointing, least to say I have not and probably will never purchase it. This fourth volume, however, is good with the exception of the last track 'I'm in heaven'. What was Joseph Lo Duca thinking? The Chin, India, and Adventures in the Sin Trade sections are the best. Listen to tracks like--Caesars' Mark, the bath, Tataka, traveling with Eli, Xena v. Alte, Released/Spirit Dance and Everybody Dance Now. It would have been perfect if Lo Duca had included tracks from episodes of Sacrifice and A good Day. They are not found on any of the previous soundtracks.
