I like curlaway,

This review is from: Xenna Curlaway Gradual Curl Relaxer Green Apple Fragrance -- 6 oz (Misc.)
I have been using Curlaway (formerly Curlex) for about 18 months with good results. I only tried the heavy application once, left it on for hours, but didn't see much of a difference. Then I read the suggesion to use it as a leave-in conditioner, and it worked great! My hair responds quickly to a ceramic straightening iron - only 5-10 minutes to soft straight hair. Also, using it as a leave-in product really extends the time between purchases - I get at least six months from a jar. Be patient, it might take a couple of weeks to notice results.

Really Super Product,
This review is from: Xenna Curlaway Gradual Curl Relaxer Green Apple Fragrance -- 6 oz (Misc.)
I have used Curlaway for about a year now and my hair is absolutely fabulous. It took some time to understand how to apply the product for the best results, but once I did....great. Hair must be pulled straight during both the application and the drying process or it just flops.
I no longer have any breakage, my hair is bouncy, looks great, full of body and has grown faster than ever before. I would never consider using a chemical relaxer on my hair again.

I must say before ordering this product I read both negative and positive review on this Amazon board. Because the reviews were mostly positive, I convinced myself I could deal with the unpleasant smell of this product, afterall I've used relaxers for years and none of them smelled good. but regular relaxers don't need to stay on for 8 hours or overnight as recommended on the jar. The smell was absolutely terrible(like amonia and vinegar)it smelled toxic. I persited and applied it to my hair and even kept it in overnight. I found it impossible to fall asleep the fumes gave me the worst headache.
I followed the directions and it did work, it loosened the curls and there was little to no hair loss after washing the product out. I Undertand that it takes several applications to eventually "straighten" out your hair, but honestly,I don't think I have that kind of patience and I can't deal with the smell(Seriously it's that bad). It says This product can be used on children, I do not recommend that. Like most of you I was looking for an alternative to chemical relaxers but because of the smell and hazzard(chemical can get on your pillow case and in your eyes). I think you are better off using a chemical relaxer until something better comes along, unfortunately this is not it.
