Works fantastically if used properly,
By Jon (CA USA) - See all my reviews Secondly, I believe that it's most important to apply the gel along and under the cuticle, since that's where new nail grows from. Pull back your cuticle, if you can, while you're applying, so that you get the gel as close to the nail source as you can. Put the gel all over the nail, but really focus on the cuticle, which is most important. When you're done, don't put socks on for 10-15 minutes, just to make sure that it has some time to sink in before anything threatens to soak the gel up. Finally, with really stubborn nails, try to add a third application, if you can remember, just to increase your odds. Be prepared to repeat all of this for months. Toe nails grow very slowly. It can easily take 3-6 months for them to go through an entire cycle. By doing what I've recommended, you should, after a few days, be able to spot a very thin line of clear nail right at the cuticle. Over the next days, weeks and months, you'll see it move toward the tip of your nail, leaving clear nail behind it. Even then, continue applying gel at the cuticle to ensure that the fungus never returns. This product does its job really well. Don't be scared off by the price. It's worth every penny because it's so effective and because the bottle lasts a really long time. Just be prepared to commit yourself to applying it frequently, properly and over many months. It'll work like a miracle for you if you do. UPDATE: While Nonyx cleared up my nails greatly and completely cured a few of my toes, I wasn't quite able to get rid of the fungus completely on a few of my more stubborn nails. Earlier this year, I decided to look into alternative remedies in an effort to find a solution for clearing up the rest and doing so more cheaply than Nonyx. I tried tea tree oil and Vicks Vapo-Rub, both of which have been highly recommended by online users for toenail fungus. The tea tree oil actually seemed to make things worse, so I didn't stick with that very long. The Vicks Vapo-Rub, which I've applied for two months, seems to have positive results, but it's hard to tell because it works much, much more slowly than Nonyx. Instead of new, clean nail growing in within a few days (like with Nonyx), the Vicks very slowly fades out the existing fungus over the course of months. I'm pretty sure that it's working, but it doesn't compare to Nonyx's near instant results, so I'll probably go back to Nonyx. It's expensive, but it's easier to tell that it's working. Maybe, since I have so much unused tea tree oil and Vicks Vapo-Rub, I'll employ a three-pronged attack and see how effective that is. Anyways, I guess that the lesson here is that what works for someone else may not work for you (or work as well). It's possible that Nonyx may not work for you, so please don't be upset with me if it doesn't. It's the best that I've used, though, so it's what I still recommend. Some of you may have more success with tea tree oil or Vicks Vapo-Rub, so you may want to look into those. If you're like me, though, you may end up (back) with Nonyx. Try all three... just don't make my mistake and buy too much, as you may end up with a lot of unused product if one doesn't do the job for you.

LOVE THIS!,

This review is from: Xenna All Natural NonyX Nail Gel, For Toenails and Fingernails - 4 oz (Health and Beauty)
My husband has had TERRIBLE toenail fungus for many years. Our insurance company turned us down for the oral Lamisil due to the many problems it can cause to your kidneys. His nails were so black and thick that he LITERALLY wittled the nails with a knife when they needed to be trimmed since he broke the heavy duty nail clippers on more than one occassion trying to trim them. Though I initially put little faith in a simple gel that was topically applied, I bought it anyway (nothing else was working). He simply squeezed a small amount of gel on each nail after showering and, after several weeks, there was a dramatic difference and now after a few months, the new nails are growing in normal -- no more black and thick nails. My husband now goes barefoot without embarrassment and I'm back at Amazon to order a new supply (the first 4 ounce bottle we bought lasted over 6 months!)

Nonyx Nail Gel,

This stuff does work. The only bad thing is the time required. In my case, the nails on both of my big toes were a mess. For the nails to look better, I had to keep applying the gel until the nails grew out. All of the "new" nail was clear and healthy. Once all of the new nail had replaced the bad looking nail, everything was great. But, in the case of toe-nails... That can take 6 to 9 months.

aloe and vinegar,
By bob "bob" (pa) - See all my reviews Ethanoic acid is the prime ingredient of NonyX. Look this ingredient up on a google search if you you don't believe me. I have used NonyX in the past and always thought it smelled like vinegar it works excellent but way too expensive that's why i'm giving it 2 stars

2 days of use and already can see an improvement,

This stuff is so good it's scary. I've used it 3-4 times in the past couple of days since I got it, and already the dead, thick ugly skin under my nails (that I used to emery-board down when I could) is a little softer and comes out easier with a tool (Tweezerman Pushy & ingrown nail file). Nails are a little whiter, too. (They weren't/aren't as yellow as the ones pictured in the "before" photos on the product's box.) I swear they're even a little less ridged on top.If you've struggled with thick undernail/fingertip skin, but have found that antifungals don't work (rightly so, because excess keratin isn't fungal) you'll love this product!

Got rid of my nasty toenail fungus for good.,

Don't believe the drug companies that say topical solutions do not work for toenail fungus. This stuff got rid of mine that I had for seven years. I was skeptical at first because I read how hard it can be to get rid of the fungus. I just applied some nonyx every morning and put a band aid around the toenail. It looked definitely better after a few months, but after a year, my toenail was perfectly normal. I could not believe it. A year may sound like a long time, but compared to seven years of having the fungus, one year was nothing. Get it and start wearing sandles again soon.

Nine months ago, I found a big, nasty dark brown spot on two toenails which appeared overnight. I read the good reviews here on Amazon and ordered this product. Today, nine months have passed and -- what a relief!--my toenails are back to normal. As soon as I started using this product, I could see two new healthy nails had started to grow. During the first two or three months, I strictly followed directions and applied the product twice a day, then I switched to only once a day. The bottle is pretty big and even after nine months, I still have half a bottle left. Very pleased.

I have been using this product for about 5 months for fungus problem on toenails, it was introduce to me by my sister. I started seeing a change in my nails within, I would say two weeks. This product really works but you have to have lots of patience and keep up with the regimen. I will say this, don't expect it to work the same way on you as it does for others, and also depends on how long you have had the problem. I have been reading how some people have been comparing the main ingredient (ethanoic acid a.k.a vinegar) to the vinegar that we can buy at grocery stores. The thing is that the vinegar used in nonyx (pH:~9)cannot be compared to common household vinegar(pH:~5). pH is very important for microorganisms and they can live in some pHs better then others. If the pH is too high or too low they might not grow/live as well. The pH is what really makes nonyx work better than common household vinegar, along with the xanthum gum that keeps the acid in place for a longer period of time...well hope this helps some people out there. I know how bothersome and embarrassing this problem can be.^_^

NonyX works but don't have unreasonable expectations. I've been using it for 4 months and some days I forget to put some on when in a rush, but it has caused no setbacks. The yellowing of nail itself and under the nail caused by the keratin build up is decreased with frequent use. I still have more than half a bottle as I only needed it for one toe. The only down side is no nail polish but that's not so bad now that it's clearing up. It would benefit you to have a nail file to slightly roughen the nail for better adherence and a brush to scrub and a little exfoliation of your feet for good feet hygiene. Worth the price and with patience you'll have great results.

I bought this about 7 months ago but waited to review it until I had finished using it. I missed days on and off but in general I put a little under the nail in the morning and at night. By 5 months my nail was back to normal. Just follow the directions and be patient. I still have a lot left over in the bottle so I could use it if the problem comes up again.
