This review is from: Xenophobe (Video Game)
I first played this game back when it first came out on the arcade. It was allot of fun back then and still has the same appeal now. I also played the Nes Version when it was first released. Back then it was allot of fun and very difficult. The Nes version is just a slimmed down version of the arcade you only get 3 of the 9 characters to play as. The game itself reminds me of a cross between Star Trek and Alien. Just check out the cover to see the Alien influence. The game is a sidescroller that's seen in split screen format.Very cool for back in the day. The reason its split screen is you can have two player action and not have to go in the same direction. Your mission is to go to eight different space stations and exterminate the Xenos. There are five different Xenos that you fight. They are Critter, Snotterpiller (the alien looking one), Laser Ball, Giant Slime Amoeba, and the Spiderion. The game is pretty tough like other original Nes games. You only have one life and no continues; so when your dead your done. The game is allot more fun with two players that way you can actually get farther and be able to finish it easier. When it first came out I had beat it but now that I have it again I will try and take it out again. If you like classic games that are difficult and are more challenging than today's games I recommend this. I know by today's standards the graphics aren't that great and the play control takes some getting used to; But its still fun and one of the better games for the Nes that's not Mario, Megaman, Simon, Samus, or Link. Get it today and Wipe Out those Xenos!
