About the Author
J.C. Yang was born in England. He passed his first 20 years in total ignorance of China, and then spent the next 40 years trying to remedy the deficiency. He has worked and traveled extensively in China and now speaks more than one of its many dialects.

Hilarious because it's (mostly) accurate!,

I bought this book while I was living in Hong Kong, and I read it again and again ... often to and from work while on public transport. I would look around me at the people surrounding me and then chuckle. It just described Chinese society in such a way that you both found it hilarious and informative at the same time. I think the more you know about Chinese societies, the funnier you will find this book. Unfortunately I've now lost my copy because I lent it to a Chinese friend who found it so funny and interesting, that she's never given it back. If you're looking for a book to reinforce your prejudices though, I suggest you look elsewhere ... it's not that kind of book.
