These are only available in full sizes and I am a half size 9.5 so I ordered a 9 based on the measurement size chart. I perhaps should have ordered a 10 and then I could have always trimmed the the toe down. Nevertheless, I love Xero shoes! I have both the original "do-it-yourself Xero's" and also these Sensori Venture Xero's. I feel they may be one of the best purchases I have ever made. I love how they force me to continuously work on and improve my running form! When I first received these I would notice a slapping noise when running, which either meant they are too loosely adjusted or my form is wrong. 9 times out of 10 I can say my form was wrong and after tweaking my form and shortening my stride the noise dissipates. If run in properly they should be silent. I truly feel these have helped me in injury prevention and recovery for my really long distance runs that I still do in regular running shoes (which I would love to faze out eventually). They have strengthened by feet, ankles and legs and therefor improved my running overall. I also bought the "ToeSox" for cool weather running and they are great too.

I'm a total barefoot running shoe geek. I know that sounds weird. The company that makes these has a very funny video called "S*** Barefoot Runners Say" where one guy says he's "totally into being barefoot" and then lists all the minimalist and barefoot shoes he has. I hate to admit it but thats me.

The only thing I hadn't tried since I went minimal 3 years ago was these huarache sandals, which is kind of ironic, because they were the original barefoot shoe. You would know that if you read "Born To Run," and there's a joke about that in the video, too ;-)

Here's my experience.

PROS:
* Way more like barefoot than all my other shoes
* I like the freedom of not having anything around my toes
* These cost a lot less than any of my other barefoot shoes
* I wore Vibram Fivefingers most of the time and those things smelled horrible. No smell with the Xero Shoes (my family is extremely happy about this).
* Really lightweight
* Waterproof -- I was running on a trail and got to a point where a couple was trying to figure out how to cross a stream in their boots. I just ran across.
* Inexpensive, comparatively
* 5,000 mile warranty? Seriously? That's outrageous.

CONS:
* I'm not sure if this is really a con, but when you run in these, it really lets you know if you have a form problem. On my first run, I got a small blister on my right foot. I called the company about it. They were extremely helpful and I discovered and then fixed a bit of over striding. No problems ever since.
* Like I said, it took me a few minutes to dial in the right tension, but after I did, I just slide these on and off. I guess that's not really much of a "con", either.
* I wish they made a closed-toe product because I can't wear sandals all the time.

In summary, these are actually my favorite barefoot shoes now, because they're so close to barefoot. In fact, I may get one of the Xero Shoes kits that has a 4mm sole since that'll be even closer. And now that I see how these work, I'm not as afraid of making my own.

Love 'em. Here's why:
* Quick: Slipping them on and off is easy and almost instant.
* Relatively Normal Looking: I love minimalist shoes and all, but man, some of them make you look ridiculous. These do not. Plus, get them in black and they will match with everything.
* Durable: After three months of heavy use, mine show no signs of wear. I suspect they'll continue to look great for years to come, and if something does happen, Xero shoes has their 5000 miles guarantee.
* Comfortable: I experienced no break-in period with this sandal. I did need to tweak the laces a bit until they were properly adjusted, but they were still comfortable even before this and I did not experience any chafing.
* Price: Most reasonably-priced minimalist sandal that I've seen.

Downsides:
* Noisy: When I tried running in these it was LOUD. There was a steady "whap, whap, whap" as the rubber hit the pavement. Xero says that this gets better once you properly adjust the sandal and/or tweak your running form. However, I decided I was too lazy to try either of these things, so I just use them for walking. (Note: they'd probably be signifigantly quieter if I wasn't running on pavement.)
* Sometimes the front lip of the shoe catches the ground while I'm walking: Not a big deal. No toes have been stubbed.

Unfortunately, these very cute sandals are way too uncomfortable in the toe/thong area. Also, with just wearing them around the house, they tripped me up several times, which is a major issue as I had bought them to wear around town as I carry my baby on my hip.
These are the second pair of Xero sandals I've owned. The first were the "do-it-yourself" style which had the exact same flaws as these sandals. These are sooooo much cuter, but still an unbearably uncomfortable fit and both styles tripped me up when walking. I won't be giving this brand a 3rd try!

I have two pairs of the original style and now a pair of the new Sensori Venture Barefoot-Style. I love them all but this new style is even more comfortable. Thank you Steve and all of you at Xero Shoes!

I already had the 4mm Xero Shoes and they were my favorite shoes. When I had the opportunity to try the new Sensori with the heel guard, I had to try them. They are fantastic! I have worn them almost everyday since they arrived.

I am not a runner!

There, I said it.

I do not run. Ever. I walk. (And I don't walk for fitness all that much either.)

I wear these Sensori sandals (or my other minimalist shoes) all the rest of the time when I'm not actually barefoot or having to wear shoes to conform with society. I wear them because I want to strengthen my feet and ankles, which had been greatly weakened by years and years of wearing "supportive" shoes. After giving up supportive shoes a year ago, my feet are substantially stronger than they used to be. A lot of my foot/ankle/back pain has dissipated too. I had a serious ankle fracture a few years back, which was a direct result of having weak ankles. I no longer worry about falling, because my ankles are no longer weak. Barefoot is how Nature intended us to be. Give barefoot a try! If you do, the Sensori are a great way to be barefoot, yet safe and protected from the things on the ground that can hurt you, without losing the barefoot sensation. If I could wear these to work, I would. Maybe someday I'll get a job where I can be free.

If it's cold in the winter where you live, I recommend getting some Sockwa shoes for cold protection, but still minimalist almost-barefoot shoes.

I really wanted to love these. And there are a couple of things I do love: the sole thickness is great, and they are super minimal -- really close to wearing no shoes. BUT, they are not easy to adjust, if I got them tight enough to not flop around, the toe wasn't comfortable, and it is very difficult to make small adjustments -- the adjusters just aren't very easy to move. And when they were adjusted well, the little heel strap cushion was forced around to the side of my heel. The sole shape is also kind of weird -- very rounded on the outside edge of the foot. Everything I read said they were trimmable with kitchen shears, though, so I tried to contour them to the shape of my foot. Guess what it looks like when you cut your shoes with kitchen shears? Like you cut them with kitchen shears (and yes I used sandpaper to smooth them out, which helped a little).

The biggest issue I have, though, is that even after I achieved a decently comfortable fit with the straps, I still couldn't stop thinking about keeping them on my foot every time I took a step. The straps are so minimal on top that my foot would sometimes land on the sole, sometimes not. My legs hurt from trying to stay in these. (And I'm barefoot 90% of the time, so it's not like I'm not used to how that feels.)

I'm sad because I really wanted these to work out. I'm also sad that I cut them, because now I can't return them.

I got my Ventures Wednesday evening and took them out for a 5.5K run Thursday. I loved the run so much that I've also ordered a custom pair of originals from the Xero Shoes site and a kit to make some for my toddler.

This was actually my first kind of minimalist shoes, but I got the DIY kit that (unfortunately) did look pretty handmade. This is kind've the best of both worlds, except that the sole is thicker than the original. The shoe came in a little large, even after I did the print-out-the-template-and-check test, so I cut down the shoe as much as I could. Seemed to work okay!
