5.0 out of 5 stars This product is AWESOME!
I've been going through a lot of foot surgeries over the past year and a half, and I wish I'd gotten the XeroSox Waterproof Cast Cover from the first. It REALLY works, I can stand in the shower and bathe normally and it keeps every drop of water out! The no slip sole is a great component of this prouduct also. I would recommend it 100%! Thank you!

versus
3.0 out of 5 stars not as good as the old style xerosox
better than most cast covers on the market. they are now made of a thinner rubber and more prone to tearing while trying to get them over the cast. the older model was thicker and would not tear as easily.

I placed my order on Amazon with eGeneral Medical and agreed to pay a premium for overnight service. Five days later they still had not shipped. When I called them they said they were out of stock, but were hoping to get some in soon. What a bunch of idiots - thanks for letting me know!

I canceled the order and google-product-searched and found the same product at Ithaca Sports. They took my order and shipped overnight. I think they are the main seller on Amazon now, I recommend you check, but Ithaca Sports were great.

When I did finally get the Dry Pro - it was great. I had popped my Achilles tendon, and my leg was in a below the knee cast. With this cast cover, plus a small stool in the bathtup that I could use to kneel my injured leg on, taking a shower was a breeze.

5.0 out of 5 stars Skintight/Watertight, January 12, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Skin tight/Water Tight latex sleeve to cover a cast or surgical incision and prevent them from getting wet. I bought this in anticipation of having surgery on both feet so I would not have to be forced to take sponge baths for several weeks until I could get my foot wet again. The product worked great. One tip: Get some cornstarch and dust the inside of the sleeve with it before putting it on. It makes putting it on and taking the sleeve off far easier and less painful (especially right after surgery). The large half leg reached above my knee and I never had a leak with it. Make sure you dust the entire sleeve with cornstarch if you plan to travel - latex sticks to itself and you risk tearing it by forcing the stuck pieces apart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the Money, July 17, 2011

Broke my ankle, I teach swimming, lifeguarding, and Water Aerobics. This product allowed me to keep a part of my life that makes me happy. The only time I felt free from the burden of crutches. It lasted through the cast stage and I stored it for any future breaks by friends or relatives. Great product. Just remember to put it below the bend of the knee, because when you bend you knee, and you place it above the knee it will break the seal and flood the cast. Oops, you'll spend all day with a dryer. Did that ONCE, learned my lesson, put it right above the cast.

5.0 out of 5 stars completely waterproof and easy to use!, March 1, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I received the xerosox waterproof cast cover in the mail 5 days after I had foot surgery. It is very important that my dressing on my foot does not get damp, as there would be risk for infection. It was extremely east to put the cast cover over my bulky dressing (the material is very stretchy). Then it was really neat how the bulb sucked all of the air out of the cover and formed around my splint and sealed around my leg above the splint! When it was time to take it off, it was also easy to remove! I highly recommend this product and will be showing it to my orthopedic surgeon so he can recommend it to his other patients!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product - helpful tips, December 9, 2011

I used this while recovering from a broken ankle to swim laps every day. It worked great for swimming but is overkill for the shower. For that, use a Curad. Some tips I discovered for ease of use:
Dry it out thoroughly between uses and apply a thin film of Talc powder inside and out after dry.
Wrap your cast in an ace bandage that connects with velcro (no sharp clasp.) before putting on the Xerosox. It will keep the fiberglass shards from snagging the latex;
While swimming laps, wrap the top of the cuff with a wrap of 2" J&J waterproof bandage tape to prevent water seepage during push-off from the wall.

With the Xerosox on, the cast will tend to float in the pool, so even though you can't really kick with the Xerosox, it provides enough floatation to keep your legs from sinking.

5.0 out of 5 stars Xerosox Zero Leak, November 26, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I had a venous ulcer on my right foot below the ankle bone and above the heel. In order to heal it must be kept dry. I found that the best way to
do this was the Xerosox. I use it to take a shower. I wear a cotton sox
on the foot this way my body own perspiration does not wet the wound area.
Then I put on the Xerosox. It is very easy to put on and take off. It has a no skid boot to give me more stability in the bath/shower. I like it very much.

I tried two other types/brands of cast covers for showering - both were uncomfortable, leaky, unstable. This product has been absolutely marvelous! No leaks, ease of movement, and the textured sole gives great stability in the shower. I'd recommend this anytime to anyone!
