Amazon.com Product Description

The Xerox P12 boasts award-winning Adobe PrintGear imaging technology, which gives you maximum printer performance and greater print options but requires relatively little memory. It allows you to print proof sheets, watermarks, posters, and booklets. Key features and benefits of the P12 include expandable memory up to 18 MB to keep pace with your changing business requirements, an optional network interface card that allows your workgroup to share the printer, a three-year warranty for peace of mind, and a paper capacity of up to 330 sheets (standard) or 830 sheets, with optional feeder. The printer cable is also included.

From Winmag®

When I printed a 20-page test document at 11ppm on the DocuPrint P12, I knew I had a winner. Using Adobe PrintGear at 600 dots per inch, the printer speedily produced dark, sharp laser output. When I re peated the test at 300dpi, the output was only slightly lighter and almost as crisp; in draft mode at 150dpi, jaggies appeared, as expected. Our 3-page text-and-graphics document printed more slowly in monochrome: 7ppm at 600dpi with no adjustment and 6.5ppm with the driver set for graphics and photos.

The DocuPrint P12 produced eye-opening photos-some of the best monochrome (124 levels of gray) output I've seen. When I used the setting to optimize for laser print output and fine halftones, the results were remarkable. And when I switched from plain paper to premium paper, they looked even better.

The DocuPrint P12 uses a paper tray that accommodates 250 sheets of letter, legal, executive, A4 and B5 paper. There's a manual feed for special or one-time media. A network interface card (not tested) is also available. Xerox supplies the printer cable.

You can print on two sides of a sheet, add watermarks, place up to 16 thumbnails to a sheet and enlarge graphics to multitiled posters (up to 4 by 6 feet). The NT 4.0 print driver does not allow draft printing at 150dpi or offer image optimization, two-sided printing or posters.
