1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid this printer and Xerox!, October 19, 2010
This review is from: Xerox Phaser Color Laser Printer (6360/N) (Office Product)
I purchased this printer to replace a Lexmark printer. The Xerox Phaser was dead on arrival. The print quality was horrible and something was broken inside. This printer was also very loud. Just like in other reviews Xerox is more than happy to send out someone to look at it. The technician replaced something, it didn't fix the problem. So, I spent more time on the phone with Xerox. Here's their "award winning" customer service process: You call Xerox, they transfer you to dispatch, dispatch calls a service tech, the service tech is supposed to call you back (whenever they get around to it), once the service tech calls, they told me to call the place I purchased it from (not amazon), I called them, they told me to call Xerox. Then, the whole process starts over. Xerox would not replace or refund the purchase until I spent over 3 hours on the phone, over multiple days, pleading to get the machine fixed or replaced. Meanwhile, my office is stuck without being able to print. If you're going to buy a Xerox, when you get stuck in the phone loop, ask for a manager or customer service rep right away, or you'll be stuck dealing with it. Even if this thing printed correctly, it was way too loud. Do yourself a favor and buy a Lexmark.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst printer we have ever bought, February 4, 2010
By
This review is from: Xerox Phaser Color Laser Printer (6360/N) (Office Product)
We operate a small consulting services firm and do a lot of color printing rather than copying of materials. We buy 1-2 new color printers per year. We have owned Lexmark, HP, the Old Textronics (which was bought by Xerox, and now a Xerox Phaser 6360. Without exception, this has been our worst experience ever with a color printer. Print quality has been ok, speed is not anywhere near what is advertised, but worst of all are the constant maintenance issues. Xerox for their part is more than willing to continue to send out a service tech to "repair" the problems under the warranty (5 times now inside of a 2 month time frame), but it spends more time waiting to be repaired than it does working for us. We have now reached the stage where the service technician in consultation with "the engineers" have determined that it is our "environment" and our use of 24 lb paper that is causing all of the mechanical problems with the machine. Remember we are in a typical office environment and have 4 other color printers that operate constantly with only the normal issues that all printers encounter from time to time, none having to ever have a service technician work on them once. Two of these printers are over 2 years old - same "environment", same paper, no servicing. Obviously we will not buy another Xerox product under any circumstances.

5.0 out of 5 stars Xerox printers are made like tanks, December 8, 2009
By
This review is from: Xerox Phaser Color Laser Printer (6360/N) (Office Product)
I dumped Hewlett Packard for Xerox about seven years ago and have never looked back. I have a Phaser 6200 that in seven years has never mis-fed a page or flashed up a cryptic error message. The drivers are high quality and are kept up to date for both Windows and Mac. The fuser and imaging unit are easy to access for cleaning or replacement. Toner can be replaced by the color, and is available from third party brands if you want to save a bit of money. Time to first print is consistently very quick. Color printing is fast and attractive (not photo quality, despite labeling the 2400x600 mode as 'photo,' but good enough for any other use).

My only issue that the single-page feeder (which is called the MFP on this printer) has weak hinges, and if somebody bumps into the open door, it could easily break off in a way that requires repair of parts inside the printer itself. This being xerox, these parts are readily available, but it's a hassle and other companies seem to have managed more robust designs.

This unit does not come with a duplexer. Most people will probably be happier spending a few extra dollars and getting the /DN model.
