Xerox's Workcentre 385 is an ideal peripheral for getting started on your home business. It is a copy machine, laser printer, fax, and scanner built into one small, easy-to-place machine.

The 385 prints and copies at a speed of 8 ppm with a resolution of up to 600 dpi. The printer can handle the most common paper sizes and hooks up to your PC via the standard parallel port. The copier can make up to 99 copies with special functions such as image reduction and enlargement.

The 14.4k fax machine has a 30-page auto document feed and can store up to 150 pages in memory in case you run out of paper. It can store up to 80 speed-dial and 20 one-touch-dial locations. Push the 385's scanner to the fullest, a crisp resolution of 300 dpi, and bring high-quality images into your PC.

I've had this printer for 4 months now and I really like it. It does everything that I need and it's easy to use.

This most important factor for me was the ability to share it on the network. Most HP all-in-one printer's don't allow you to share it on the network. Xerox states that they don't "support" network sharing, but that give detailed instructions on how to do it (They just don't want people to call tech support for it).

It turns out that sharing a workcentre 385 is just like any other printer (very easy). Not so for HP's all-in-one printers. Their special driver that doesn't have sharing capabilities.

I fully recommend this printer.

The fax picks up the line while you're talking on the phone randomly. I did use the fax line periodically for calls but can't anymore because of this 'feature'.

AND THE WORST PART!

XEROX STILL HASN'T RELEASED WINDOWS 2000 DRIVERS MONTHS AFTER IT WAS AVAILALBE!
