With just one purchase you gain all these features. The WorkCentre 390 prints at 10 ppm in laser-quality resolutions up to 600 x 600 dpi. The 150-sheet paper tray speeds your projects, accommodating paper sizes from letter, legal, and executive to many specialty sizes. The copier runs at speeds up 10 ppm with reduction from 50 percent to enlargements of 200 percent in 1 percent increments. It programs printing of 99 multiple copies at one time plus automatically sorts for longer documents.

The flatbed scanner lets you scan books and magazines and text with the OCR (optical character recognition) software to speed editing. The high-speed fax transmits at 6 seconds per page and permits documents of up to 30 pages to feed automatically. Additional features include fax forwarding and paging, remote fax retrieval, and 80-number phone auto dial. Plus, multitasking allows you to print, copy, or scan while receiving or sending faxes.

The WorkCentre 390 is engineered so that even if one function doesn't work the others will. For example, if the 390 runs out of toner, and nothing can be printed, faxes can still be sent and incoming faxes (up to 150 pages) can still be received for later printing. A compact 14 by 16.3 by 9.4 inches and yet a substantial 22.6 pounds, the WorkCentre is packaged with LaserFAX Lite 3.5 and Pagis Pro 2.0 software. I have been researching MFP's for about 3 months now. I work out of my house and needed to upgrade my fax and printer. I settled on a laser due to the high cost of inkjet inks. I was leaning towards the 390 with its USB support...the purchase was made,... read the install directions and set it up. Installation was a breeze. I think the interface is very intuitive. The machine prints great text pages. I clocked 12 pages / min after inital start-up. I really like the ability to be able to make copies. At 300 dpi they are not as crisp as the printer but very pleasing. Also after using an injet printer, the lack of printer head noise from the 390 is greatly appreciated. The sheet feed scanner works great for documents. I use an Epson 610 Perfection scanner when I scan photo's. Lastly the fax is a pleasure to use. A great purchase. Very happy with my decision.

Received the WorkCenter 390 yesterday -- it was set up and ready to use in very little time. Our company has grown a lot and we needed a seperate fax line. We were planning to purchase yet another (non-networked) laser printer for a separate workstation, but decided that this little machine is really wonderful and would definitely be more useful in the lower level offices than a standard printer would be. So Far, so good!! We haven't used it enough yet to find anything we would change, although the receiving paper trays may not be very sturdy.

A little over one year ago I purchased a Workcentre 390 and was pleased with the performance until, for no apparent reason, a "Fuser Error" appeared. I contacted Xerox and the cost to repair this is in excess of [money]. The copier was used only occasionally, not even one toner cartridge replaced.
