5.0 out of 5 stars My 9-year-old son LOVES this game!, January 15, 2007

I tried asking him to tell me just how much he likes the game, and he took over the keyboard to type this:

"This game is AWESOME! There is lot of Shen Gung Wu from the TV show and lots of the villans: Jack Spicer, Hannibal Roy Bean, Pandabubba, and finally Chase Young. You can unlock the Shen Gung Wu in xiaolin showdowns which are awesome! You can be a pirate in the showdown Pirate Rafts and battle Hannibal Roy Bean. Face Goo Zombies against Pandabubba and more! Also you can move up in rank from a xiaolin caterpillar in training to a Wudai Warrior! Also learn way cool moves and elemental chi attacks! So are you ready to play? Let's go XIAOLIN SHOWDOWN!"

4.0 out of 5 stars A lot of good, a little bad, July 28, 2008
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Xiaolin Showdown (Video Game)
I haven't been gaming long and I'm an adult. My DS is my first system since an Atari!! I did play a Nintendo infrequently and now have a Wii. Anyway, this is one of my top games so far on my DS.
Pros
It is interesting and challenging. You have a characters to choose from with different skills. The main character seems to be the most suited for the challenges. I really enjoy the dance offs where you watch a cheerleader jump in four directions then you have to touch the screen in the same pattern or opposite pattern. Defeating foes is pretty simple but challenging when they gang up on you. There are clues to how to complete each situation. There are lots of beneficial items to find. You also get to call the other characters to help you with certain things.
Cons
The controls are strange. In the beginning you have a tutorial from a master. I had to give it to my husband to get over a part where you have to jump over alligator mouths. I kept drowning. It often seems like you have to push two buttons to go straight and one button makes the character move sideways. This is somewhat overcome by getting used to it. So far the stylus is only used to do the dance offs. This means that there are a lot of buttons to push to play this game. I am still unsure of how to use the second special weapon that you choose in the beginning. But with the 4-way movement button and the 4 buttons to fight and defend and throw, and the back button to do special things - I'm not sure I can keep track of much more!

Overall this is a good game. I definitely have games I regret purchasing and this is not one of them.

A Kid's Review
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Xiaolin Showdown (Video Game)
this was a pretty good game. there were only two problems whith it were cheesy graphics, and you use like 1/3 chi every time you use
sheng-gong-wu, which gets annoying when your completely surrounded by enemys, down to your last life, and dont have enough chi to use the two ton tunic or any other sheng-gong-wu get you to safety. but over all its a pretty good game, especially if you are a fan of the show.
