I purchased this lighter on the recommendation of a friend (who owns a different Xikar lighter and a few other of the company's products). He's very complimentary towards Xikar and, in particular, their customer service department.
This little beauty works as advertised. Very powerful dual flame, especially at the high setting, which will properly light a Churchill almost instantly. The flame holds up extremely well in windy conditions and the lighter itself seems to be very solid and well built. The large flame adjustment wheel is a nice feature too.
Highly recommended.

Amazon Verified Purchase
After I felt very disappointed with Zippo Blu, decided to try with this Xikar Lighter by recommendation of a local cigar store. The Xikar Element is Awesome!!! it's the best butane lighter I've ever had. Has 2 powerfull flames and really lights a robusto in a few seconds. If you enjoy cigars must have this excepcional and reliable Xikar lighter. It's very easy to use and has a see through little window to watch the remaining fluid. To first use just push the filling valve with a small screwdriver to realease any presure, then fill with premium butane gas for 10 seconds. Enjoy.

Pros:
Durability.
Very effective lighting 60 gauge cigars.
Well built.
Lifetime warranty.
Works perfectly in windy conditions On a boat or playing golf in particular.)
Great for melting the end of synthetic ropes.
Very hot clean burning flame.
Cons:
Plastic flame adjustment screw. The lighter is very well made I don't understand why this screw is plastic. The reason that it matters is because you are supposed to fill the lighter with the flame adjusted to the lowest setting. It is possible to adjust the screw with just about anything flat for example a dime, screwdriver, fingernail, prison shank etc. but the each time I adjust it it seems to wear out a little more.
Considerations:
The dual torch burners use twice as much butane. For me this means refilling 2 per week, however my friends use it as well.
Refill Process:
1. Empty the any existing butane from the lighter by pressing the round fuel filling hole on the bottom of the lighter in the middle of the flame adjustment screw.
2. Adjust the flame control screw to the lowest possible setting.
3. Turn the lighter upside down and insert the butane can to the hole in the middle of the adjustment screw.
4. Wait until the temperature of the butane in the lighter reaches room temperature(3 - 5) minutes.
5. Adjust flame screw on the bottom of the lighter to the desired height.
Review:
Excellent lighter that is very fairly priced. I think that the dual burners may be a little overkill in many situations. I would be nice if there was a switch that turned one burner off.
Update:
After 6 months this thing still lights every time. Very pleased with this purchase. Initially, Ronson butane from Wallgreens did not work. It works fine I must have been doing something wrong. Nevertheless it is really easy to refill.The black finish has almost completely worn off. It doesn't look that bad and I don't really care but you may consider a lighter finish if you think it will bother you.

Horrible
Had the lighter for 2 days. It will not longer spark and doesn't work at all. BIg time FAIL. Come on, 2 days and it's dead!
