Very good package.
Great way to start using prorammable logic. Software is easy to use. I had no problem installing the software.

Don't bother with this old version, get the newer version!
Foundation Series F1.3 (Student Edition) has some serious problems you should be aware of...first of all it is *NOT* a Win32 program...Your project files must conform to the stupid MSDOS "8.3" convention. Large projects (something that you would do in a quarter, like a simple RISC processor) are prone to cause the software to crash. Furthermore, this...

Foundation Series F1.3 (Student Edition) has some serious problems you should be aware of...first of all it is *NOT* a Win32 program...Your project files must conform to the stupid MSDOS "8.3" convention. Large projects (something that you would do in a quarter, like a simple RISC processor) are prone to cause the software to crash. Furthermore, this edition has *NO* HDL (VHDL or Verilog) capability...unless you count ABEL. With that being said, get a book that comes with the *all new* 1.4 Student Edition. This edition is far far better, and although you will not get the hardcopy documentation that comes in F1.3, all the manuals are on-line in PDF anyway.

The text of the book was fairly instructive, but my computer won't run the software. It is hard to make a recommendation, except that I would wait for the new edition before purchasing.
