I also appreciate the benefits of xylitol in a non-flouride toothpaste.

Promotes tooth brushing because your kid will actually like the taste and want to brush their teeth.

My son loves both but I personally cannot taste any minty-ness in the original flavor.

Ive finally found a toothpaste the meets all my health conscious, "hippie mommy" requirements! Biggest requirement...xylitol. Its a better cavity preventor than flouride ever was or will be...plus its NOT toxic!! Not only that, but xylitol is actually known to reverse tooth decay (google it...Im not making it up!)It has an easy to use formula (kiiiinda wish they'd add a natural color to it so we can see it going on the toothbrush better)with a flavor my kids enjoy more than other natural brands containing MUCH less xylitol.

This seems to be the safest kid's toothpaste that I could find and I've done my research! I had been using Earth's Best toddler toothpaste, but the Kid's Spry has safer ingredients according to EWG's (Environmental Working Group) web site. Plus it foams up a tiny bit not like the Earth's Best tooth gel which doesn't foam at all. The foaming makes me feel like it's cleaning better. The only negative is that the gel sinks into the toothbrush immediately. But it still works. My kids and I think it tastes great too!

First and foremost: My 17 month old loves it. The only "fight" we have is that he wants to suck on the toothbrush. I started using this toothpaste at about 10 months when my sister in law gave it to me. Prior to that I would just use a moist cloth to wipe them clean. Wanting him to get used to the toothbrush we first moved on to toothbrush without toothpaste which he would fight a little but, then finally tried the Spry which he absolutely loves.

Second: As a dentist I was concerned about giving my baby a flouride toothpaste when i know he will swallow it and in considerable amounts this can cause fluorisis which would discolor his permanent teeth which are forming now. Knowing this, and the added benefits of xylitol made it a no brainer.

So, bottom line is I don't feel confident enough to recomend it as a professional, since I haven't made a literature review on it (not sure i would find much) but I do recomend it as a mom.

Great toothpaste, no saccharin, food coloring or artificial chemicals like in most brands marketed to babies/kids.
And XYLITOL for keeping those carries causing bacteria at bay. Our baby love it ;)

I used to think this toothpaste was great also. My son has been using it since he was a little over a year old and is now 2.5 months. His teeth have been looking yellowish the past few months and I have been wondering if it is due to this toothpaste? We brush his teeth 1 -2 times a day so it is not like he has plaque forming and he doesn't eat anything that would stain his teeth. I looked at the ingredients which I used to think were great but I see now that it has grapefruit seed extract (as a preservative). I read recently that GSEs anti microbial properties aren't due to its natural properties but due to the extraction process. I think that they use pretty strong chemicals and that is why it is antimicrobial.

I have shopped around for toothpaste for him for a while now and I don't want the glycerin. I think I am going to make my own toothpaste now with silica, aloe vera gel and some kind of natural flavor enhancer. cheaper and at least I know what is in it.

I know all the pros of xylitol. This is a great product. My daughter loves it. She calls it her "yummies"
But don't buy it on here. Whole Foods, Sprouts, other stores like that have it for a few bucks cheaper.
Also get your child some MI Paste from your dentist! If they don't have it, tell them to educate themselves and GET with the times!!!

After using a different brand of toothpaste that my twins didn't like, I purchased this. They love the flavor and now brushing their teeth is fun instead of a chore. FYI, the package says it is a product of Orem, UT.

We've been using this toothpaste for our daughter since she began brushing her teeth. When we had her first appointment with a pediatric dentist we were pleased that this happens to be the toothpaste the office recommends as it is non-fluoride and safe to swallow.

Our daughter really enjoys the flavor and asks to brush her teeth. From what I've read it can sometimes be a challenge getting your child into the habit of brushing his/her teeth so we're very pleased that our daughter enjoys this toothpaste enough to ask to brush her teeth.
