5.0 out of 5 stars No house with children should be without this seat!, July 3, 2008
This review is from: Xpress Trainer Pro-All In One-Real Simple Potty Training Round/Standard Family Toilet Seat (Baby Product)
If you have a child about to be potty-trained, know that for the next seven years, your child will most likely need a smaller seat than you do. After five years of using a plastic-covered foam potty seat, having to place it and remove it EVERY SINGLE TIME, I finally have found the best invention in the world. This is the nicest potty seat I've ever seen, child or adult. Its design will actually give your toilet a facelift. Coming out of the box I was worried about its strength, but it is super sturdy- no creaking when you sit. The seat is made of a strong, easy to clean plastic, not MDF or wood- both which hold stains and scents as much as a foam seat does. The lid and both seats are slow closing so you will have no loud bangs in the middle of the night. The edges of the seats are contoured, not sharp, so there's no pressure marks on your bottom. As if that's not enough, the way the seat is attached to the potty is so simple (due to a special design), you can remove it in THREE SECONDS for a complete cleaning. This is by far the best product I've ever had in my "mother's bag of tricks". I now own two.(One point of information that I've noticed from other parents when moving from a foam seat to a "real" one. Children don't like it. Child potty rings are tall and squishy. A real seat slopes down in the middle and doesn't give. It will take any child a few times to get use to the feel of a real seat. But don't give up. Encourage your child, stay with them, show them they're o.k., that they won't fall in. You will reap the benefits- no more seats that "trap" urine making your house smell, no more looking for a place to put that nasty seat when they're finished.) Truly a blessing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Concept---Could be Better Executed, December 12, 2009

This review is from: Xpress Trainer Pro-All In One-Real Simple Potty Training Round/Standard Family Toilet Seat (Baby Product)
After painstaking evaluation of the most popular and obscure family toilet seats, and flip attachment options I chose this toilet seat (because it was all in one, cute, soft closing)

During the evaluation process I came across a UK/AU version of this toilet seat (perhaps its the original, maybe produced from the same designer or maybe one or the other is a knock off, I can't be sure) call the LupiLu. It is similar in almost every way accept it doesn't seem to have the design flaws that the US/CA version does.

Flaws:
* The hole in the child seat is a bit too large for most toddlers if they consume a normal/natural human diet. It seems to be sized more for kindergarten aged children (5/6) and up or much larger toddlers. My daughter who is 2 months away from her 3rd must hold the sides of the seat to feel stable enough to use it. I also have to place her way back on the seat because the hole is so long.

* The adult seat is too small to cover the toilet. The rim of your actual toilet will stick out in the front and on the sides as if the designer did not fit this to actual toilet shapes when creating it. Most if not all other toilet seats cover and hang over the actual toilet rim a bit, but this one falls short of that by almost 1 cm on the sides and in the front. AND I assure you this is the proper seat for my toilet (round toilet to round seat)

If the UK/AU version (LupiLu) can fit US/AU toilets at the bolting points and other dimensions it might be worth the shipping to order it because the seat actually fits/covers the toilet (in the photos), and the size of the child seat is small enough that all average/normal sized children as well as larger children can use it from toddler age into childhood.

My seat also came with a small cosmetic defect as well :-(

Other Details:

If you are not a really heavy person, I think its ok to sit or stand on this toilet seat as you would a normal toilet seat. I would test this slowly before doing it, but my point is that it doesn't seem flimsy or fragile as described by a few others.

It also will not poke you in the back while the child seat is up as I would guess most other types of these toilets and flip attachments wouldn't either, again IF you are not obese. If your back touches or nearly touches your normal toilet seat when you sit, then this is probably going to cause a problem for you, but for other individuals its a non-issue.

The bottom seat sits off of the toilet a bit which is good if you have a bidet attachment on your toilet.

Plan on having/buying a very good step stool with strong rubber stoppers on the bottom big enough step area so they can turn around and sit down on the toilet, and perhaps a rail on one side if you are using this for toddlers and want them to be able to use it safely on their own.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as great as I would like..., November 29, 2008

This review is from: Xpress Trainer Pro-All In One-Real Simple Potty Training Round/Standard Family Toilet Seat (Baby Product)
I purchased this for my three year old. The toddler seat is too big for her. It might be more her size when she is 5, but for now she still has to prop herself and is afraid of falling in. The seat is not strong enough to sit on when it is closed. This is a problem that I have had with other seats and replaced them with stronger ones. The seat bends when you sit on it when closed, which means I have to sit on the floor during bath time. Also the slow close is great, but the toddler seat does not slow close, allowing for crushed fingers. The seat is okay, but could be better.

5.0 out of 5 stars A definite YES!, December 4, 2008
This review is from: Xpress Trainer Pro-All In One-Real Simple Potty Training Round/Standard Family Toilet Seat (Baby Product)
I purchased two of these toilet seats for our daycare and they work great. I have researched so many other potty seats and finally decided on this one after reading the reviews. It is easy to install (didn't need to get one of my male assistants.) It is very comfortable for adults, feels just like a regular toilet seat. Our daycare kids love it. They feel much more secure sitting on it than on the traditional soft, portable ones that shift when they climb on. They love being able to lift up and close the lid themselves and sit on a seat just like the "grown ups."
The company's customer service is wonderful. They email you first, after purchase to make sure the correct seat was purchased and answer any questions you may have. Don't look any further. Buy this one.

Like most I read the reviews to get a handle on the product. I found it hard to believe this product got 5 stars from 12 people. Well, it's not a fluke. Finally someone with a brain designed the last word in a family toilet seat. All contoured = comfort, whole seat easily removes for cleaning, My 3 year old twin girls have no trouble lifting the lids. They stay up when using the adult size and all descend gently so no slammed fingers. If you're looking for a family seat, stop here - there's no need to look further.

Wow! Solid seat! I am a home childcare provider and have several little ones potty training. I installed the Xpress Trainer and the kids say it's very comfortable. I like that it's glossy and easy to clean, it's a much more stable sitting area for the little ones than a cushiony ring, it's a little stiff to lift but that prevents the lid from slamming down (a common issue with young children when they close the lid), it's easy to lift the little lid, the big lid, or the whole thing. It feels thick and durable. I'm very impressed and highly recommend it! Ken was also very nice and understanding - super customer service!

5.0 out of 5 stars So easy to clean!, August 12, 2008
This review is from: Xpress Trainer Pro-All In One-Real Simple Potty Training Round/Standard Family Toilet Seat (Baby Product)
I cannot overstate how wonderful this product is. My 2 year old daughter loves it, and it has made the first few weeks of potty training more comfortable for all of us in the house. A note: the seat cames equipped with clips that allow you to take the entire assembly off the toilet in less than a second to make cleaning under the seat a breeze. I didn't realize when I ordered that it had this feature, and I absolutely LOVE it. Great product, great company!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best option out there for families, August 12, 2008

This review is from: Xpress Trainer Pro-All In One-Real Simple Potty Training Round/Standard Family Toilet Seat (Baby Product)
We've had this for about a week and couldn't be happier with it. Our almost 3-year-old was potty trained on a little stand alone potty seat, but we started to get sick of dumping and cleaning it. Our big helper wanted to do everything on her own, of course, with pretty gross results.

This seat is great for everyone in our family. Our daughter just brings her step-stool to the toilet, opens the lid and climbs aboard. She's totally secure on it and is SO excited to do everything on her own. The adult seat is comfy and the kid seat is securely up and out of the way when it needs to be. The quick-release design makes cleaning easier, and it's a wonder all toilet seats don't have that feature.

The perfect solution for families. I actually showed it off to our dinner guests the other night (they have a toddler, so it wasn't totally weird)!

This review is from: Xpress Trainer Pro-All In One-Real Simple Potty Training Round/Standard Family Toilet Seat (Baby Product)
I just received this seat today and installed it. Installation was super easy and the seat is of very high quality. The child's seat is a generous size which is great because we were having a problem placing our son on the portable seats and getting him situated so that he didn't wet outside the toilet. This design leaves plenty of room to "dangle".

The seat is attractive and looks very well on the toilet. It connects with plastic bolts and the seat has a locking feature that allows for the entire seat to be taken off and cleaned completely. Also the hinges are pressurized so that both seats won't come slamming down. And yes, they do stay up for the adult males in the family.

I particularly like the design of this seat because it is not 3 separate pieces to handle. The child seat is built into the lid with a lid of its own so all you have to do is lift the child seat instead of both a lid and a child seat.

With 2 boys only 2 years apart this is a great solution for the years ahead that we have to deal with small bottoms and toilets. Our bathroom is very small so this saves us the hassle of trying to store a child seat separately.

I have recommended this product to many other people.

*worked great till a plastic bolt broke and we couldn't find a suitable replacement. A real shame because I really enjoyed having the seat. But do feel bad about having recommended it knowing now that parts are so difficult.

This review is from: Xpress Trainer Pro-All In One-Real Simple Potty Training Round/Standard Family Toilet Seat (Baby Product)
This product is more than I expected. It's cheap but in excellent quality. This is the third transitional/family seat I bought but this is the only one I'm truly satisfied. I am buying a second one for my other bathroom. My daughter (23 months old) loves climbing and sitting on it. She's very comfortable and independent using it. I feel relieved that I don't have to clean up potty chairs or hold her sitting in a regular toilet seat. Even the adult part of it is comfortable beyond my expectation. I recommend this for all.
