| Safety warning: | Small children should never be left unattended in a bathroom. It is also important to consider your child's readiness to begin the potty training process. There is no set age at which potty training or toilet training should begin. The "right time" for potty training depends upon a child's development in four areas: physiological development (bladder and bowel control), motor skills, his or her cognitive and verbal development, and emotional and social awareness. Your pediatrician can help you to determine the level of your child's readiness. |

Better Than Expected!,

This is a great product, but there are some details missing from the description. Let me explain.
When the product arrived, I was nervous about the installation as I do not consider myself a handy person. It installs a bit differently that the regular toilet seat that I was replacing. It took two attempts, but I was able to install it properly without the need for tools. The directions are fairly clear--definitely more clear than any of my daughters' toys that I've had to assemble! The way that this seat is installed, it allows for easy removal (popping the seat off the bolts) for a thorough cleaning. I don't imagine that I'll have to use this feature too often, but with little ones and little messes, it is a great feature. The child seat is a perfect size for my small 3 year old. She's been poty trained for a while, but has never been able to potty independently until now. It's secure enough for her to climb up on. The child seat is NOT a toddler sized seat, so I imagine that my girls won't be outgrowing it for years to come. The best feature of all is that the adult seat and lid have a no-slam feature. My three year old tested it, and no matter how hard she tried, it wouldn't slam shut! My husband likes that all components remain in the upright position, as well. Well, I think that covers everything. My family likes this seat so much, that we've ordered another for the powder room.

Worth every penny...Our daughter had lots of excuses why she preferred those comfortable diapers and pull ups, but the one hurdle that hung on longest was that she seemed unsteady and a little afraid of hanging over water. This toilet seat was our solution. Also, as a side benefit for the adults in the house, it's comfortable, doesn't bang closed and it's very easy to clean. There. I did it. I talked about toilet seats.

Mine is not the greatest...,

I have the elongated family toilet seat for my elongated toilet, so my problem might not be typical of the regular size toilet seats. First of all, if we want to put the lid and the 2 toilet seats up, they do not stay up on their own. My 4 year old son now doesn't like urinating in the toilet because he has to figure out how to hold up the seats without having them come crashing down on him.
My other issue is that the toilet seat keeps slightly moving off the toilet rim. I thought maybe I didn't tighten it enough (because you can only tighten it by hand), so I had my husband tighten it, and it still moves. I'm considering looking for a different brand of toilet seat.
