5.0 out of 5 stars Don't be worried about the price. June 22, 2011
This is the BEST Rdp app on the market. I have had it for well over a year and it always works flawlessly, well worth the price. Connects great to both x64 and x86

This app works like a charm, using the native Remote Desktop software preinstalled in Win7. Since I already use Remote Desktop at work, it was a breeze to set this client up. Finally a remote desktop application worth buying to me. No additional software to set up on the host machine makes this perfect for my needs.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but could be better October 6, 2012

Yes, you pretty much have full control over your desktop. However, it would be nice if they had an easy way to download files to your device.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best RDP App on the market October 15, 2011
By P W
I have been using this app for a corporate server environment as well as personal use and it is hands down the best RDP app out there.

You do NOT need a client app on the target machine (like many others out there, ie. Teamviewer) but you may need some configuration on your router, PC or firewall to connect to clients.

The title says it all. I really like this app but updates for the Amazon version are slow to arrive. I suppose it's more of a critique on Amazon but I hate hearing about the new features available in the Android market notifications and having to wait weeks pointlessly for same to arrive on my hard paid samely priced Amazon bought copy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Need to log on as second user January 2, 2015

Install was a bit difficult because of no explanation of how to enter different passwords for the client/server connection vs. the computer user name and password. Then once I figured that out it wouldn't allow my connection to the computer I wanted to control. When I would start the connection it would log out the user on the computer. The only way I could see that I would be able to use it would be to create a new user on that computer and connect with Xtralogic RDC through second user. The problem with that is that everything I want access to and control of is on the administrator account. This computer is a Home Theater PC and was hoping to be able to control all of its functions and recordings.

3.0 out of 5 stars It works, but it's pricey February 20, 2015

I have a hard time condoning shelling out $15 for an app that does little more than free apps you can get elsewhere. I got this for free, so I am glad I could try it out without having spent that much.

Sadly, your list of options on the Amazon App Store for RDP clients is... limited. You can find free apps like aRDP Free and Microsoft Remote Desktop, but they're on Play, and you need to sideload them. The other App Store options are, as far as I can tell, not as good as this app. Still... it takes all of a few moments to sideload, and they work as well as this does.

Xtralogic RDC starts by throwing a EULA at you that you must first accept. This is jarring, given that I've not seen it on other apps, or at least not noticed it like this - it's right there, literally in black and white, before you can do anything. Not a big deal, but... disconcerting.

Once you get into the app setup, it's pretty standard, and it works essentially like all other RDP/VNC apps do. I didn't find it to differentiate itself in any real way, but I will say it was stable the entire time I used it.

What would have made it much more worth the cost, to me, would have been the inclusion of an SSH client, since most work environments have the need for secure connections, and most RDP clients don't include that functionality. Without that addition, though... this is a usable app, and it does what it says, but it doesn't work any better than the free RDP apps available on other app stores.
