5.0 out of 5 stars Extreme sports photpgraphy beyond the egde

I bought Extreme Sports Photography by Simon Fraser believeing that I was going to receive another of those extreme sports books full of great pictures but without the capacity to get the adrenaline pumping into my blood stream.Boy was I wrong. I read, analyzed, re-read, took a look at the pictures with my son's microscope, got all pumped up, told my wife that I was...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the greatest
Cons:
I was disappointed by the quality of printing and photographs in this book. Many of the photos are washed out or simply not in focus. Some of the photos are really bad. The photographers that they picked are not the leaders in their field. Where are the great names in adventure photography; like Corey Rich, Bryce Kanights, Britain, Washburn etc...

Cons:
I was disappointed by the quality of printing and photographs in this book. Many of the photos are washed out or simply not in focus. Some of the photos are really bad. The photographers that they picked are not the leaders in their field. Where are the great names in adventure photography; like Corey Rich, Bryce Kanights, Britain, Washburn etc.?

Pros:
Camera type, lens, and camera settings are often shown next to each photo and there is lots of copy to read. Some of the stories are pretty good.

My main problem with he book is that I had higher hopes for it. I was hoping that I would get inspired and learn a few tips from seasoned veterans.

I bought Extreme Sports Photography by Simon Fraser believeing that I was going to receive another of those extreme sports books full of great pictures but without the capacity to get the adrenaline pumping into my blood stream.Boy was I wrong. I read, analyzed, re-read, took a look at the pictures with my son's microscope, got all pumped up, told my wife that I was going BASE jumping and more. I specially liked Doug Blane's BASE jumping pictures. He really got me pumped and I almost come out of my BASE jumping retirement because of his great shots. ( my wife cried when she realized that I was getting excited and ready to BASE jump again) . If you like to live beyond the edge get this book now.
