good idea, poor execution,

I like the idea. I like the idea so much, upon seeing itI bought two on the spot, one for me, and one for my daughter, so she could share listening to her music on an upcoming band trip. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work. Neither of them. At least, with the apple earbuds. I need to hunt down another headphone to see if it'll work, but frankly, if it won't work with the earbuds, that's unacceptable. I'll be returning them.
