5.0 out of 5 stars Great book on Flying Star Feng Shui
This is a great book for anybody who wants to learn the Flying Stars method. This book makes the Flying Stars method look so easy! I wish I had this book few years back when I started to read & to understand Feng Shui methods, including the Flying Stars one. My study would have been so much easier & I would have not faced hours and hours of frustration!

3.0 out of 5 stars easy read
On the plus side this book is easy to read and a simple pleasure. I gives a person a good clean start on understanding some basic flying star feng shui. On the negative side there isn't much information and doesn't offer much help. The practical application examples mostly tell you what works with different situations that are good, but doesn't offer much help for problem...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book on Flying Star Feng Shui, October 4, 2007

This is a great book for anybody who wants to learn the Flying Stars method. This book makes the Flying Stars method look so easy! I wish I had this book few years back when I started to read & to understand Feng Shui methods, including the Flying Stars one. My study would have been so much easier & I would have not faced hours and hours of frustration!

The introduction, with some Feng Shui history facts, is great and very informative. It is fun to understand a little bit where Feng Shui comes from. I know that every Feng Shui book has a little bit of history in there, but this one is different. It goes much more deeper into the Feng Shui roots and I found this very interesting. Also, I like that the book makes it easy to understand how "to fly" the stars. Again, this took me quite a while to understand when I first started to study Feng Shui.

The other aspect of the book that I found very helpful was the Feng Shui of apartments. Not too many books talk about it and go into details on how to identify the Facing & Sitting direction of an apartment & how to correctly apply the Flying Stars method.

The book has lots of examples in it and they are very clearly explained. Again, this book makes the Flying Stars method look so simple and easy to understand. I can not wait to get the 2nd book in 2008. I have been trying for a while to find an easy way to understand the meaning of the numbering combinations (in other words, understand what the stars are trying to tell me & how to take advantage of the good combinations and how to weaken the effect of the bad ones) and I am sure that this book will make it easier for me. I just have to be patient until this more detailed book is released and really enjoy reading the book I have purchased now.

I highly recommend this book to everybody who wants to understand the Flying Stars method & who does not have the luxury to spend hours and hours studying it.

3.0 out of 5 stars easy read, February 10, 2008
This review is from: Xuan Kong Flying Stars Feng Shui - An introduction to Flying Stars Feng Shui (Paperback)
On the plus side this book is easy to read and a simple pleasure. I gives a person a good clean start on understanding some basic flying star feng shui. On the negative side there isn't much information and doesn't offer much help. The practical application examples mostly tell you what works with different situations that are good, but doesn't offer much help for problem charts at all. In life one learns from problems. It is easy to point out things that work, but how much is gained from that?

Yap has done a great job at making you want to buy his next book("Yap Trap")because this one is incomplete and you are still wanting answers.

If you want to find a simple clear book dealing with the basics in flying star feng shui that will actually help you solve problems, then I highly recommend you read "Flying Star Feng Shui Made Easy" by David Twicken.

Oh yes...and it is a complete book on the basics.

5.0 out of 5 stars amazing!, September 23, 2007

This review is from: Xuan Kong Flying Stars Feng Shui - An introduction to Flying Stars Feng Shui (Paperback)
This book is amazing! It has brought my understanding of flying star feng shui to a whole new level. I've read several other books on the subject, but none were as descriptive or as systematic as this. If you were similarly as confused as I was on this subject in the beginning, you should definitely get this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars The only book on flying star you should ever read, September 26, 2007
This review is from: Xuan Kong Flying Stars Feng Shui - An introduction to Flying Stars Feng Shui (Paperback)
I have read quite a few books on flying stars feng shui but nothing explains the subject quite so clearly. I have already tried to apply what I learnt from the book and it is so much easier. I often get confused working on stuff I learnt from other books. Chapter 7 on Applications of Flying Stars was so useful. Joey breaks it down for you in such a systematic way. Plus- the diagrams and pictures in the book are beautiful!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good job, October 1, 2007
This review is from: Xuan Kong Flying Stars Feng Shui - An introduction to Flying Stars Feng Shui (Paperback)
I think the author did a good job explaining the intricacies of flying stars. Some of the techniques can be confusing and many of the books out there seem contradictory. I was just about to give up on the subject until I picked up this book.

I really enjoyed the chapter on taking a direction and applying flying stars to apartment units. Instructions were clear and systematic.

I also liked the practical chapter where he discussed case studies. This really helped with my understanding. The step by step guide at the end was great too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple Easy Starter Book for all Feng Shui Enthusiasts, March 10, 2008
This review is from: Xuan Kong Flying Stars Feng Shui - An introduction to Flying Stars Feng Shui (Paperback)
If you are looking into a first book on Feng Shui, this will be it. joey Yap is a reputable author on Chinese Metaphysics and also has a talent for writing and expressing Feng Shui theories and application in a very detailed and simple to understand manner. I am impressed by the graphics, presentation style and structure of this book, allowing newbie like me a good grasp of the concept of Feng Shui which is really not something hocus pocus but more of a calcualted science. They even have online courses which I am looking into now, will await his next 2 books in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars best classical feng shui in english that I considered the bible for strong foundation, February 8, 2008
This review is from: Xuan Kong Flying Stars Feng Shui - An introduction to Flying Stars Feng Shui (Paperback)
This trumps all feng shui books out there in english for a strong classical feng shui foundation. I consider this my feng shui bible. It is only the beginning of the series on classical feng shui. I can't wait for book 2 and 3 of this serious. Very easy to understand with diagrams and practical step by step instruction manual book format. You'll learn how the flying stars work and apply it. 2nd book will teach you the combination of stars and 3rd will be more advance techniques.
