I did file the jaws smoother as aluminum is easy to mar up, but I doubt most other metals would even notice the small 'edge' that was on the jaws of these. This is something to be aware of, though. Didn't take me long at all to smooth them out by hand.
The handle is actually very comfortable. I was expecting to have to do some adjustments to it, but I've found it fits nicely into my hands, better than any other pliers I've had. The material is a very solid plasticy-rubber with a quite nice 'velvety' feel to it. I have long hands for a female and they don't extend past my hands but aren't too small either. Even my husband said the fit is nice (and his hands are a bit bigger than mine).
These are also very well oiled (had to clean some off) which is better than most pliers I've tried (got a few other pairs before getting these ones and one was so stiff it took quite a bit of dousing with 3in1 to get them moving smoothly), and the jaws open quite wide as well if it's something that's important to you.
Can definitely recommend these if you're looking for flat nose pliers that are more narrow than most on the market. The price is fantastic and they're made in the USA if you're looking for that kind of thing as well.Read more ›
And now for something to make it better.
How about a kit of different coloured plastic handles so you can differentiate between tools? I use about 5 different types of Xuron, all with blue handles, and heatshrink doesn't really look neat enough.
Nicely and professionally designed tools with the cutting edge. Expensive, but for a quality tool like this, I don't think twice to spend the extra buck. After all a good engineer needs a good tool and finally, it is made in America, so it speaks for itself.

I am using this set for wire wrapping and it is by far the best set of pliers I could ask for. The tips are narrow, about 40% smaller than the flat nose you get in a set... Read morePublished 22 months ago by J. Buonauro
