The Xyron wishblade is a computer-connected digital cutter which allows you to cut fonts and shapes in any size from 1/2-inch to 8-inch wide and up to 39-inch long. If you can wish it, you can now cut it. This amazing machine even allows you to cut welded words. The Wishblade now comes with CNC+ software which is Mac Leopard and Windows Vista compatible without patches or further downloads. Auto trace, print & cut and scanning are all native features of the CNC+ software. Auto trace automatically creates an outline shape from a bitmap. Print and cut allows you to print a picture and the wishblade cuts the outline. Twain scan allows you to use your scanner to pull an image into CNC+ then auto trace it or print & cut it. Unit also includes blade pack with pen holder, cutting mat, USB cable and power cord, instruction manual and quick start guide. 1-Year limited warranty with toll free technical support 7-days a week.

I bought this thing a few years ago and I chose it because it was XYRON: a name I thought to be reputable. The software is NOT user-friendly, for starters. You better be pretty software savvy! The cutting mats don't last very long, either...then you have to replace them at $20 PLUS shipping (because...good luck finding some local store that does anything Wishblade....rumor has it Xyron isn't very nice to smaller stores).
The next problem I ran into was the compatibility issue when I went from XP to Vista. DID NOT WORK and Xyron did NOT offer updates. WTF!
Purchased a Windows 7 machine and thought I would give it a whirl. Nope. BUT...there IS an update from Xyron, but you have to pay $100 for the software. SERIOUSLY. When you fork out close to $400 for a machine, you shouldn't have to pay $100 for a patch!! UNREAL.
Next time, I am going Silhouette. They offer ALL updates for FREE from their website. It's a concept, I am telling you!

The Wishblade is so much fun. I've had a little trouble with it because I use a Mac, but the help desk at Xyron has stayed right with me to iron out the compatibility issues. My scrapbook pages are really eye popping.

I love this machine! It works well and it's fun to use. As with all new equipment, playing with it and experimenting first is key. I have Windows 7 operating system so when I installed I had to call tech support to figure out why it wasn't working. They were very helpful and I had it up and running within a short time. This is a great machine and I love that I can print font off of my computer. I would definitely buy this again.
