5.0 out of 5 stars Eye Popping Scrapbook pages
The Wishblade is so much fun. I've had a little trouble with it because I use a Mac, but the help desk at Xyron has stayed right with me to iron out the compatibility issues. My scrapbook pages are really eye popping.

2.0 out of 5 stars Neat, but not user-friendly and NOT compatible..PAY for updates!
I bought this thing a few years ago and I chose it because it was XYRON: a name I thought to be reputable. The software is NOT user-friendly, for starters. You better be pretty software savvy! The cutting mats don't last very long, either...then you have to replace them at $20 PLUS shipping (because...good luck finding some local store that does anything...

The cutting mats don't last very long, either...then you have to replace them at $20 PLUS shipping (because...good luck finding some local store that does anything Wishblade....rumor has it Xyron isn't very nice to smaller stores).

The next problem I ran into was the compatibility issue when I went from XP to Vista. DID NOT WORK and Xyron did NOT offer updates. WTF!

Purchased a Windows 7 machine and thought I would give it a whirl. Nope. BUT...there IS an update from Xyron, but you have to pay $100 for the software. SERIOUSLY. When you fork out close to $400 for a machine, you shouldn't have to pay $100 for a patch!! UNREAL.

Next time, I am going Silhouette. They offer ALL updates for FREE from their website. It's a concept, I am telling you!

I love this machine! It works well and it's fun to use. As with all new equipment, playing with it and experimenting first is key. I have Windows 7 operating system so when I installed I had to call tech support to figure out why it wasn't working. They were very helpful and I had it up and running within a short time. This is a great machine and I love that I can print font off of my computer. I would definitely buy this again.

I've owned this for a while now, and it does well enough. It is way more flexible than a Cricut, but not as easy to use. I have used it to make many stencils for various projects (cakes, painting, woodworking, Halloween decorations). Provided I take my time and remember all the steps, it does a decent job. I've learned to always use the sticky sheet for my paper, otherwise it goes crazy and messes up. I really like that the software will create an outline of any gif, jpg, or other image in minutes. It also uses any true type font I have on my computer. This means, I can scan an image, and have a stencil in short order. I don't like that sometimes it doesn't cut deep enough, and I need the exacto knife to get the fiddly bits. There's also the small pieces of paper that are stuck to the sticky sheet, and there tends to be lots of little pieces of paper. Although I'd like to try an actual vinyl cutter to compare, I'd take this over a Cricut any day. I kind of also wished it printed too, but it doesn't. If I had known before buying this, I might have kept looking for one that did both.
