Editorial Reviews

Review

Stunningly refreshing, unaffected and informed... If you had to select one film to show your climate change-denying brother-in-law or equivocating religious or community group or indifferent college student or distracted kid, YERT should go to the head of your queue. --Jeff Biggers, Huffington Post

...light-hearted but serious-minded. --Bill O'Driscoll, Pittsburg City Paper

YERT has taken its adventure and turned it into a feature film celebrating the American spirit in the face of adversity. --Lauren Clabough, The Rider News

Product Description

50 States. 1 Year. Zero Garbage? Called to action by a planet in peril, three filmmakers set out across America, traveling with hope and humor and all of their garbage to find solutions.

Join the YERT team as they immerse themselves in America's unique approach to environmental sustainability the good, the bad, and the weird. From a one-armed Texas cotton-farmer building the world's largest wind farm to a 92-year-old Idaho caveman; from a company making a fortune selling garbage wrapped in trash to gorgeous off-grid homes made from bottles, cans, and tires; from the first solar roadway to the first edible prairie it's an adventure full of groundbreaking surprises.

Inspiring and often hilarious, YERT - Your Environmental Road Trip highlights the courageous and creative individuals, groups, businesses and leaders who are tackling the greatest environmental threats in history, and celebrates the American spirit in the face of adversity. Featuring Bill McKibben, Wes Jackson, Will Allen, Janine Benyus, Joel Salatin, Tom Szaky, David Orr, and others.

Enjoy a warm, refreshing, optimistic documentary about a deadly serious topic: what humans are doing to Mother Earth. The film-makers visit all 50 states to spotlight amazingly creative individuals who are working on varied ways to reduce and reverse the destruction of the biosphere caused by industrial civilization and western culture. Really great fun with a spiritual message: live in harmony with the planet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great movie! April 25, 2013

If you're not interested in "being green", you will still like this movie.

If you are, you'll love it!

How did they manage to make a documentary... that's also a road-trip buddy movie... mixed with a love story... combined with an environmental message that's both truthful and hopeful...?

Julie, Ben, and Mark are such a joy to watch as they pursue their passion for sustainability across the US. They reveal some of the most interesting people and places that are developing remarkable ways of making a positive impact on the environment.

Great, great movie!
