DEFECTIVE! MISWIRED! SAFETY HAZARD!,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought four Y adapters at the same time from this seller, two of this ASIN (B000FPQO9Q) and two of ASIN B000234UFG. The four adapters that arrived are identical in appearance and have the same defect (described below). So the seller in my case definitely used a common make & model to fulfill orders for both ASIN's.All four Y adapters are consistently miswired: Each connects the plug's HOT blade to the receptacles' NEUTRAL slots and the plug's NEUTRAL blade to the receptacles' HOT slot. This presents a genuine, 2nd-order safety hazard. I discovered the defect on the first of the four adapters the hard way: by getting shocked! For the other three, I used a test meter to confirm that they were likewise miswired.

Note these particular cables are made with 18-gauge wire and the tag says they are limited to 1250W - this is nowhere noted on the item description when you purchase. For example, you cannot run a hairdryer connected to one of the plugs. Other Liberator cables I have are made of 16-gauge wire and don't have a wattage limitation below what a standard wall circuit will support.

This review is from: Y-Power Splitter Outlet Extender - splits 1 AC outlet to 2 (Electronics)
Item was Ordered December 2011, and item arrived slightly different in appearance. I am using it to plug bulky power adapters into a single outlet, and for this it works well. I checked each of the outlets, and they were both properly grounded, and correctly wired. If you need an AC power splitter, this is the one.--note-- Ordered from "PRO TECHGROUP CORPORATION"
