We are already seeing signs of the Y2K bug invading our business and personal lives. Now is the time for families and individuals to prepare for what difficulties and setbacks the Y2K crisis might bring. Y2K-It's Not Too Late: Complete Preparedness Guide is the ultimate step-by-step manual on how to plan for the unknown catastrophes which might accompany the Y2K bug.

Pooling their unique experiences, skills, interests and concerns for the future, the authors create a concise guide as a result of their months of research on Y2K preparedness. A thorough, yet concise, overview of Y2K planning.

Topics covered by the authors of Y2K-It's Not Too Late range from basic needs-food, water and shelter-to more specific topics such as AC vs. DC power supplies. The rollover to double zero is nearing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely well researched and well written., April 29, 1999
This review is from: Y2K - It's Not Too Late: Complete Preparedness Guide (Paperback)
I have read a number of Y2K-related books. "Y2K: It's Not Too Late" is by far the most accessible and well written book on Y2K preparations that I have seen. It helped our family put together a practical program for what may lie ahead at the turn of the century.

5.0 out of 5 stars I've not seen anything even close to this book!, April 2, 1999

Your book is WONDERFUL! I've not seen anything even close to it. It is just what is needed to help guide the average person in gaining practical information, in order to become prepared for Y2K. Everything about it reflects the highest quality: writing, information, and organization. The three of you have put together a wonderful Y2K resource....Finding your book at the Denver Y2K Expo, by itself, made my trip to Denver worthwhile.

5.0 out of 5 stars An empowering book!, March 23, 1999

This review is from: Y2K - It's Not Too Late: Complete Preparedness Guide (Paperback)
Whether or not you believe in a cataclysmic sequence of events with the transition to the new millennium (actually, the third millennium doesn't begin until Jan 1, 2001), you have to believe that basic societal and cultural anxiety will cause much disruption if the malfunctioning computer software doesn't. Y2K, Its Not Too Late is an excellent "cover all bases" textbook dealing with this transition. We take modern amenities for granted without realizing on a daily basis that those "amenities" (running water, grocery stores, fossil fuel based heat) have only been around for a couple of generations. We have "discovered" that our centralized, fossil fuel and silicon chip based economy is so fragile that the literal tick of a clock can bring the whole thing down. Our arrogance about ourselves similarly is whisked away. I think that even if these events are prevented, and even worse effect is the that of freaked out people taking the law in their own hands and causing an anarchy that also could bring our civilization down. Despite this gloomy scenario, the positive theme of Y2K, Its Not Too Late, is in juxtaposition to what it is a defense against. We all need to be aware of what sustains us and this book gives us a good start. The first chapter sounds the warning bell, describing the issue in a matter of fact, non hysterical fashion. Following chapters covers basic needs in a logical hierarchy starting with planning, shelter, water on down to communications, medical and communication. Many details abound such as, web addresses of suppliers and prices. Y2K, Its Not Too Late is an excellent "how to" survival book against a projected difficult period. To know that there is an alternative empowers us.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-have book for every Y2K resource library!, March 15, 1999
This review is from: Y2K - It's Not Too Late: Complete Preparedness Guide (Paperback)
"Y2K-It's Not Too Late" is like a manual that condenses 10+ books and catalogs into a 370-page condensed manual. An excellent resource! Many of the books out there on Y2K emphasize the computer problem and how to fix it, or maybe they will go so far as to say 'get a generator, store food, buy a water filter, etc.' But you have to ask 'What kind of generator?' and 'Where do you get food that will last a long time?' and 'What kind of water filter should you get?' Y2K-It's Not Too Late answers these questions. It gives you prices, options, phone numbers, websites - everything you need! I highly recommend it as a must-have for every Y2K resource library in the U.S., if not the world.
