This kid is amazing. I can say that I have the pleasure of knowing tony. I went to gradeschool with him and currently go to high school with him. Now, this CD is very good. However, i've seen him perform live. That's where he just blows you away. His improvisational skills are amazing, not to mention he has a great ear. He's truly a prodigy.

This cd is an amazing collection of jazz, funk, and blues, masterfully presented by an incredible musician. I could not comprehend the fact that this seventeen-year-old could hold his own against anybody in the business. Songs like Georgia and Mercy, Mercy, Mercy have never been played better. I highly recommend this cd for any jazz enthusiast, or even for someone looking for something special, because this cd has it all. I would not be suprised to see Koussa become one of the best jazz musicians in the nation, if he isn't already with the rate he is going. I'd get the cd while you can and keep the name in the back of your head so when he hits it big, you'll have his first albumn.

5.0 out of 5 stars A small portion of his talents, August 28, 2001

Tony did an outstanding job on this CD, but it is only a fraction of what he can do. I've had the pleasure of knowing him through high school, and let me say, he's simply amazing. I highly recommend this album, and all future ones to come. Great job Tony!

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Y2Kid (Audio CD)
Y2Kid is an awesome collection of jazz and funk. This kid is awesome on the saxophone. His improvisational skills are just amazing! I was fortunate enough to see Tony Koussa Jr. perform live, and he's just as good as he is on the cd. He is truly great. Keep your eyes open because this kid has talent and I would not be suprised if he reaches higher levels of exellence.

5.0 out of 5 stars Possibly The Best Tone Quality, May 11, 2001
This review is from: Y2Kid (Audio CD)
Recently I purchased the hot new release of Y2kid. I had no Idea of what to expect. I had heard about the lead alto player, Tony Koussa, because of his success in the greater Cleveland area. When I first listened to the cd, I was awestruck at the young tallents inprovisational skills. The tracts on the cd were made up of some of my old R&B favorites as well as Koussa's own works. Backed up by a strong rhythm section, the sax had numerous opportunities to solo. Koussa's funky, soul style are excellent. His tone quality is also quite acceptional. Overall the cd is excellent, The musical skills of all the players, including Koussa's school music instructor (John Konicek-Trumpet),are exceptional. Get it . You'll enjoy it. It's an awesome Jam.
