Format: Hardcover
The highlight of the book is Grant Morrison's DARE, which serves up a memorable portrait of Margaret Thatcher (AKA Gloria Munday) who uses our hero to burnish her image: not since R. Crumb's image of her as a hen on a set of rotten eggs has she had such an accurate artistic representation. The passage of time has not made this work any less of a statement, and the art deco zeerust that surrounds Dan in his awful slow downfall and incandescent revenge is perfect. The other stories are good, very good, but this one, as a statement about a particular politician will resonate in the memory.
