Tremendously helpful,
This review is from: YOU: On a Walk (Audio CD)
I have many walking music products, but this one keeps you in a constant, rhythmnic tempo. Disk one is a good tempo for me and I get a good workout from it. I haven't tried disk 2 yet. It is a faster tempo. You get encouraging words from the doctors as you walk and that too helps motivate you to continue til the end. I recommend this one. Thanks

Great Way to Lose Weight !!!,
This review is from: YOU: On a Walk (Audio CD)
If you're the type of person who gets bored about 10 minutes into the walk around your neighborhood, this CD program is a great way to help you to keep going. On this CD, you have the choice of a couple of differently paced walks, a music option, and during the walks you have an "angel" in your ear, talking with you and encouraging you to keep going.
When I walk, it's usually on a treadmill, and listening to this CD is a great alternative to watching the TV. It makes the time go faster, and it's a great way to keep track of how long you're walking. And I find it motivating. I have lost about 30 lbs from treadmilling and watching my food consumption, following the guidelines that Dr. Roizen and Dr. Oz suggested. The companion program is great too !! This is a recommended program.

Just getting back in the habit of walking that extra 30 minutes has be a difficult project for me. The music and encouragement has made my effforts much much easier and it's amazing how quickly the time passes. I would love for Dr. Roizen to create a few more so that we could have some variation in the music as well as the tip/encouragement. I'm still working on the stretches... flexibility will come with time I hope!

YOu on a walk,
This review is from: YOU: On a Walk (Audio CD)
The music is really not very inspiring and nothing that is said on these discs is new. You would be better off taking an mp3 player on a walk and playing your own music. I love Dr. Oz, but this is truly useless. And I had to scrounge around for an old diskman player. Use an mp3 and play your own music and save your money. Spend it on his books instead.

I really have enjoyed this walking CD. I like how they give you the option of walking with or without the narration. The cool down stretch routine is very handy as well.

This has 2 CD's, each has a track with either commentary or just plain music. (I prefer the commentary) although I wish there was more information on it. It has suggestions like "remember to tighten your stomach while walking" etc...
The music is a little 80's ... but ok. The second CD I felt like was more for my mom... kind of surfer music theme. 1st CD is more like synthesizer/ tubular bells/ pure moods type music. Overall, I do use this on my mp3 player when I walk.

I didn't find it a challenge at all. not enough interaction and instructions from Dr. Roisen. I was very disappointed with it and
wouldn't recommend it and yet I love their books and love to watch them on t.v.

I'm not impressed. The music was ok, I'd much rather listen to my iPod or a CD player even than the authors telling me why walking is good (because no one has told me that one before).

A waste of money from a normally good writer,
By PT Ben (Plano, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: YOU: On a Walk (Audio CD)
This audio CD is a complete waste of money in my opinion.
The CD is broken up into 4 parts. A brief introduction, a 30 minutes walk with an occassional tip thrown in, stretches, and finally an instrumental version without the tips. The music is horrible. Think grocery store or elevator music. I don't see how anyone could increase their heart rate listing to this music. Not that I was expecting Metallica or 50 cent but the music was a HUGE dissappointment. The tips on this CD can be obtained from many of these guys other books as well as the stretches. If you have an Ipod or some other MP3 player you can make a much better workout CD than wasting your money on this one. I must admit I was surprised by this CD since the other books by these authors are top notch.

I ordered this tape because I saw Dr. Oz on the Oprah show. I bought a treadmill this year and decided to listen to the tape while on my treadmill. This is a wonderful tape as it starts out slow and builds up to some good walking music. Once you get through with the tape and end your treadmill walk, you just fill so refreshed. The music on the tape is very upbeat. I would recommend this tape to everybody.
