The one piece, knife edge, rectangular anvil and the two knife edge, adjustable anvils are all manufactured from hardened, lapped, tool steel. The blades of the type 'U' make its primary use that of gauging the lower diameter of external grooves. Having only two adjustable anvils, the Go/No Go setting procedure is quick and straightforward.
