First they sent me another model that is not in the picture. Poor information first use. It was frustrating to put it to work. After all right.

The VGA to VGA (PC to monitor) worked fine, but the YPbPr to VGA was faulty in that the screen blinks black every few seconds and when the screen does show up, it's black and white.

I wanted a PC to Monitor / Playstation to Monitor converter for VGA instead of HDMI, since my monitor doesn't have a plug for HDMI. I ended up getting this converter box: Component video (YPbPr) / VGA To HDMI Converter With Auto Up-scale, but this only goes OUT using HDMI, so I also had to buy a VGA to HDMI cable: VGA to HDMI Cable, 6 feet.

I have a Wii that I tried playing on my LCD computer monitor with this adapter and it is a complete disappointment. The screen flashes black for around 2 seconds 3 times, every 2-3 minutes. It is completely annoying and will make gaming experience frustrating, especially with games that require that you concentrate on the screen (like Guitar Hero). Since I have only tried it with a Wii, I don't really know if it doesn't work on other consoles. And it might also be a problem of compatibility with my monitor (Dell SE178WFP). However I recommend not to take the chance. There are a few other adapters out there, so go for that if you have the option.

Not sure if the product was damaged in transit or if the design is flawed. Read plenty of positive reviews on other sites, but perhaps they were not as discerning. I bought the unit to VJ.

The package came, not in a box, but a bubble envelop and was slightly crushed. Plugged it in and found the output from iPhone to be poor. Specifically every other scan line was shifted over. Wasn't sure if the flaw was the iPhone, or the Optoma HD projector. But, then I bought a competing product form Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0016SN49Y and everything worked flawlessly!

So, either the product:
1) was damaged due to insufficient packaging by the retailer (step2ddr),
2) doesn't work will with iPhone or Optoma projector
3) is flawed by design or manufacture

Take your pick. Once again, it has had positive reviews elsewhere, so your mileage may vary. As for me, since my projector accepts HDMI, I found the competing product from HT Cables to work flawlessly.
