If you felt that you found the one person that you were meant to be with, how far would you go to have that person? Would you defy your parents, who are rich and influentially powerful? Would you challenge her father, who has been more of a father to you than your own father? Would you even go against the traditions of your society to be with the one yu truly love?
Well, if you are looking for a movie that has a little bit of drama, romance and humor, then Yaadein is a wonderful choice. Superstars Hrithik Roshan, as Ronit, and Kareena Kapoor, as Isha, present such amazing chemistry throughout the movie, especially the dance scenes and the shots with just them reacting to each other as tensions amount in their characters' relationship. They are also superb in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Ghamand Mujhse Dosti Karoge.

Good Bollywood Film,

Okay, so it can be a little cheesy at times. The alligator scene wasn't the best either. Ha. But, the songs are catchy, the storyline is good, and Hrithik is great to watch. The dialouge he has in this movie is great, and he plays the character of Rohit, a dramatic romantic, very well. I enjoy this movie. Give it a try!

Bollywood at its best!,

This movie is bollywood at its best. It has the same feel and crazy, dramatic moments most bollywood movies do. The story of this man and his daughters is real and heartbreaking. It made me laugh, cry, and go though a whole range of emotions before I was through. The music and dancing are great and you just won't be able to resist watching this movie from start to finish just to see what happens.

Barely average; lifted by Hrithik's dance,

Plot is about a couple in love who are caught up in their parents agendas and the boy is promised to another for the sake of a family business merger.
That is meant to be the subplot though. The main angle is the personal friendships a father gets with his daughters after his wife dies. He aims to go beyond roles and traditions and be a personal friend to each. He does this somewhat erratically and incompletely often but Jackie Stroff does bring a sensitivity to the character of the father by the end. I really like Hrithik but this isn't one of his best. It is one of his earlier movies though and he really had yet to do his best stuff. There is some hammy over-acting and labored scripting. There is a big speech at the end which is meant to be moving but I found somewhat awkward, meandering and ineffective in stirring emotion. However there are some good dance sequences with Hrithik as a redeeming feature. Jackie Stroff is also good and Kareena Kapoor fine. My co-watcher found it patchy and fragmented rather than a cohesive whole. This movie has had very mixed success. It flopped in India but went on to become a huge grossing movie in foreign markets. Elsewhere on the Net it seems to get average sort of ratings (usually about 4-6 out of 10)

An experience to Forget,
By A Customer
This review is from: Yaadein... [Theatrical Release] (Theatrical Release)
After all the hype and the marketing campaign and stars like Kareena Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Jackie Shroff and Amrish Puri and the Subash Ghai name the movie at best is disappointing. It is a very feeble and baseless attempt to represent an Indian family living across two continents. How a single Indian father raises three daughters in England and India is the essential theme of the movie. The theme provides a phenomenal opportunity to explore the nuances of children who are raised in a dual culture syndrome. Failing to take this opportunity, Subash Ghai settles for less than mediocrity. The performances are lifeless, concept of editing is lost, the direction fails to tango with the script and the music is a mishmash of Anu Malik's past scores. This film does not hurt your sensibilities simple because it assumes you have none. Not a film, I would recommend.

I purchased this dvd hoping it would be a great copy and it wasn't. It froze midway through the video and I can't get past it. I hope I could get a better copy elsewhere.
