The official Flickr app for your Android device offers all of the tools necessary to share your life in photos. From the moment you point-and-shoot to editing and ultimately reviewing friends' comments, it all begins and ends in one app.

Point, Shoot, and Edit with Flickr

Take beautiful photos with the full-featured Flickr in-app camera, enhanced with ten custom filters and high resolution photos. Once you're pleased with the look of your photo, immediately upload it to Flickr. You will also be presented with more sharing options. Simply check the box next to the desired option to share with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, your Wordpress Website, and more.

Share the Story Behind Your Photos

Additionally, share more than just the photo with your viewers by adding titles, descriptions, comments, and tags. Never forget where you took a photo again with the convenient geotagging feature that stores your location data automatically. Easily check the Keep Location Private box if you don't want to share the location.

For added privacy features, before sharing you are always presented with the privacy filter allowing you to share only with friends, family, both, or the public.

Keep Tabs and Keep up with Your Photostream

The interface is neatly organized into 4 tabs: Activity, Contacts, You, and the in-app camera. See what your friends are saying about your photos by tracking comments, favorites, and tags for your photos under the Activity tab of the main interface. The Contacts tab allows you to view the latest photos from your friends. The You tab is where you'll store all of your stuff like photos, sets, your own favorites, and your friends' photostream.

When you upload to Flickr you also get access to powerful online organizational tools, groups, fun photo apps, and a community of over 60 million members. Looks like you've got a lot of sharing to do!

1.0 out of 5 stars Won't log in using Facebook December 30, 2013

The app won't log in using Facebook. It works fine if you use a Yahoo account, but not Facebook. The app is nice otherwise. Too bad my flickr is only associated with my Facebook account. Please fix.

5.0 out of 5 stars the best way to view photographs on Flickr December 30, 2013
Verified Purchase
The Flickr app by Yahoo gives immediate access to the best photography social media on the internet. You can view photos by category, place, interest group, or in your own Photostream. It's true, as one reviewer complained, that this app won't help you to upload your photos, but it's a great way to view them (and a lot faster than typing in the url for the website and signing-in every time). In addition, you can look up the exif information by touching under the photo while in Landscape mode. For many photos, you can see what equipment and exposure was used, as well as when the photograph was taken. I have found it a good way to improve my own skills. Best of all, like Flickr itself, the app is free! It works flawlessly on my Kindle Fire HDX. I highly recommend it.

I kept the Flickr app for three days, but could never get it is emulate the view and ease of looking on your regular computer, not even on a 10 inch tablet. Menus were much too small. It might have been better if there was a pointy stylus where you stand a change to "click" on a 3 point font menu. To be fair, I have the same problem with SmugMug's app which I've also deleted. It's simply easier to use the Firefox app and bookmark the pages.

4.0 out of 5 stars IT WORKS OK ON KINLE FIRE HD 7" March 14, 2014

IT SEEMS RARE WHEN A COMMON APP ACTUALLY WORKS ADEQUATELY ENOUGH ON THE KINDLE FIRE. THIS ONE DOES.

WITH ALL THE APPS ... I FIND OPENING THE WEB BROWSER, AND GOING TO THE WEBSITE DIRECTLY, YOU GET BETTER, FULLY FUNCTIONING AND FASTER ACTION .... RATHER THAN USING A SPECIFIC APP, THAT USUALLY IS SLOW TO LOAD, HAS LIMITED FUNCTIONS, AND IS USUALLY MUCH SLOWER.

1.0 out of 5 stars Low resolution January 17, 2014

This only lets you view pictures in low resolution. I don't mean only that it won't let you enlarge pictures (it won't, and it should do, reloading so that resolution is maintained). Worse, the default settings are to load in images at a resolution lower than the device's resolution.

What's the point of that? The pictures look rubbish.

(My device is an Amazon Kindle HDX.)

1.0 out of 5 stars Is this an app or web site bookmark? August 9, 2012

I thought the Flickr app would be more convenient for photo blogging, but it was not suitable at all. The app seems to take you to Flickr website; I don't need a separate app that allows me to browse the Flickr website on my phone.

I just want to upload pictures from my phone to my Flickr account. Instead I got log-in errors, token errors, 'web site not available try again' errors. "Flickr has stopped" errors. And every time I have to reenter my id and password. Over and over.
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy SII with the latest firmware, if that matters...

It was much easier to email photos from the phone to my Flickr account. From there the blog software picks up the photos. Seems like the two most useful features for a Flickr mobile app have been left off:
1. Seamlessly stream pictures from Flickr to the phone for browsing
2. Seamlessly send pictures from the phone to Flickr for blogging or safe keeping.

The app does neither of those things.
