The book is generally typical of the "In Action" titles. Mostly photographic in orientation with some basic text. The book takes the reader from the original Yakolev designs to the early jet designs. There aren't too many detail photos here (beloved by the modeler); you'll have to look elsewhere for those. Still, the book is a reasonable introduction to aircraft not well known in the West.
