Sturdy Hitch Mount Bike Rack at Great Amazon Price with free delivery,

I bought and returned a flimsy and wobbly Bell hitch-mount rack at W*lm*rt for about ninety dollars and then researched online for better quality alternatives.
The Yakima and Thule models were so similar that I couldn't tell the difference without actually trying them on my car. There are other models of bike racks that hold bike more securely; this is the simplest entry-level model but I didn't want to spend nearly four hundred dollars for a bike rack. The rack fits into the two-inch receiver found on many pickup trucks. You must use the supplied screw-in hitch pin to secure it. I would have preferred to use the locking hitch pin that I already have for my trailer. A large wrench (7/8") is needed to do this (not included). This makes removing the rack a relatively time-consuming process. The rack is relatively heavy (about 40 lbs)and sturdy. The bike is actually held by plastic arms that brace the bike by the frame and heavy rubber bands that secure it in place. There is an optional locking system sold separately to lock the bikes and rack to the vehicle. I used Amazon's free shipping. The item came by UPS in just three days. The price was about fifty dollars less than I would have paid if I bought the item locally. A great deal. Thanks Amazon

A testament to the toughness of this rack: I backed into my garage door with it - there wasn't so much as a scratch anywhere on the rack. The door was a total loss.

Very happy with my Yakima, excellent quality and easy to install on my Explorer, the cradles and straps work perfectly on my Trek, holding it level with no movement at all, just strap it down and tie the front wheel and you're good to go. I routinely tilt it down to access the rear door with my bike loaded, has cradles for two bikes but you could easily put three on it,cradle arms also fold down when not in use to increase visibility, clever yet simple design.
